The 360 just refuses to die, which is ironic given it's early history of constantly dying.

So, I've got a question: Does anyone think Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is going to end up being relatively rare, or will it get a price drop in the near future? I can never tell with Atlus games (even if Nintendo is publishing here). Sometimes, it'll hit that magical $20 threshold on 3DS with a lot of their niche fare, but I just wonder on this one.
Reason I ask is that I've got $35 worth of coupons and $16 of store credit I can burn on it in GameStop.

I don't see it going down much. It's niche but very valuable to that niche.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I suspect being on the Wii U also contributes to lower print runs. I'll probably go snag it tomorrow when I'm on that side of town.

Definitely go get it. Don't want another Eternal Poison situation.Sarge wrote:Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I suspect being on the Wii U also contributes to lower print runs. I'll probably go snag it tomorrow when I'm on that side of town.

That's because last gen just has SO many more games than current gen, and people are still trading in their last-gen stuff like crazy and not buying a terrible amount of new stuff. Especially on the Xbone, most every new game that comes out for that that's worth having just seems to be the next flavor-of-the-month online shooter, so the used sections for that thing gotta be hella boring. At least the PS4 has some interesting action games, platformers and indie games to look for, but the PS3 has like 3 times as many still. If anything, I'd rather they get rid of the Xbone used sectionFragems wrote: I think there biggest problem right now is they are in no real rush to phase out the last gen stuff it seemed like they were going to for a while and they started to with the Wii at least but things have kind of stalled out. The PS3 and 360 sections of all of my local stores are still 2-3x the size of the PS4/XB1 sections and the Wii U has hardly any space at all. Plus over half of the XB1s shelf space is now being taken over by 360 titles with backwards compatibility
.
I mean, I'm ONLY JUST getting a PS4 THIS year (like, 3 days ago), and that was a begrudging purchase. There just ain't the games to justify it :/

Concur, a lot of trade ins the reason for the shelf space allocation that we can benefit from. The new systems do get coverage, an entire fixture that could hold fifty games gets large promo signs for a game or two instead! The biggest surprise is many locations in my area (at least for disc games) have not been tossing out the cases. Some Gamestops do, I avoid them like the plague. I'm still discovering obscure Wii games CIB on the cheap that I never heard of and at less then five bucks each! Some actually play quite well.PartridgeSenpai wrote:That's because last gen just has SO many more games than current gen, and people are still trading in their last-gen stuff like crazy and not buying a terrible amount of new stuff. The Gamestop that I mentioned previously (the one with the aggressive sales tactics) has also started ditching boxes and manuals for any Wii games five bucks or less. They're going into generic yellow/clear sleeves. This is the second Gamestop in my metro area where I have noticed this practice.CRTGAMER wrote: I'm still discovering obscure Wii games CIB on the cheap that I never heard of and at less then five bucks each! The only profit they can squeeze is last gen, lots of people are going digital and most importantly don't trade their new games there for nothing. Bonus almost every game can be found 20-50% less other places.PartridgeSenpai wrote:That's because last gen just has SO many more games than current gen, and people are still trading in their last-gen stuff like crazy and not buying a terrible amount of new stuff. If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.
