Re: The Comic Book Thread
well this thread is crickets...
I just finished reading the first 5 issues of Mockingbird which make up the TPB "I Can Explain." I think that this series is a hidden gem. Chelsea Cain's writing is fantastic. She took this character that I never paid any attention to before and made her totally awesome. This series is badass and funny and beautifully drawn. You guys should read this!
...
What else? Um, I finished Extraordinary X-Men 8-12, which made up the second TPB. And read the recent Amazing Spider-Man Annual. It was hyped for having a 'comedy' story written by Wayne Brady. It was more amusing than funny. But the story involving Cloak & Dagger was pretty great.

Read vol 1 of Angel Catbird. Meh. Comic book writing is clearly a different skill set than traditional literature.

Re: The Comic Book Thread
A friend of mine asked me if I could recommend Runaways. I gave it a glowing recommendation - especially the earlier story arcs by Brian K. Vaugh. I went so far as to call Runaways one of the best comics of the 21st century.

With school starting, cross country, catching up on all the DC TV shows, and finally selling my old house I'm crazy behind on comics. I just finished September's books. I'm slowly catching up...my site's taken the bigger hot though. I really need to get other people reviewing and being partners on the site.

I'd love to see a re-vamp.SpaceBooger wrote:With school starting, cross country, catching up on all the DC TV shows, and finally selling my old house I'm crazy behind on comics. Also I'd like to recommend the new Batman Annual that just came out. It's all Christmas themed stories.

I need to check out your site. Not a huge DC fan, but some are very good. All recent stuff or some slightly older stuff?

I've been reading Watchmen on and off since June, and have now just finished it tonight. And wow. It is easily one of the greatest comic series I've ever read.

Re: The Comic Book Thread
When I was on my game, for many years, I was reviewing books as the came out. Most of my old content is gone from the site.marurun wrote:I need to check out your site. Not a huge DC fan, but some are very good. All recent stuff or some slightly older stuff?
I did a thing for a while called Print-N-Pixel where I would review a comic based game and then recommend a story and review it that went along with the game.
I really need to get back to making content. I loved my Supper Rapin posts with the Penguin singing The Humpty Dance and my favorite:
RUN DMC’s “King of Rock” Feat. Aquaman

I really need to find some other people to help with the content. I always hoped it would merge with a site like this one or whatever. I had some people write content, but it didn't last long.
Maybe, I'll get back to it. One day...

yes, but it was one of the handful that I asked my wife for for Christmas, so I'm waiting on that one.samsonlonghair wrote:Yo Noise, Are you still wanting to read Civil War?
I'm probably gonna read Batman Year One next, I think.
