What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

After watching Conan prank the game a couple weeks back it took my interest entirely away from thinking of buying FF15. I hope people enjoy what they are hoping to get out of it, but all the tedium and odd ball stuff his tidbit on his show played out turned me off even if the audio was turned off and I just watched it. I don't buy RPGs to push a broken down car, window shop for wedding dresses, run around in the dirt randomly for no reason, and then go a boss fight where it's more auto pilot and odd stuff, then for whatever reason you win it. It just seemed too off the reservation for my taste. Dragon Quest like actual RPG mechanics are more my thing.

Elkin, it always warms my heart to see people who truly care for old people. Regardless of what is going on with her physically or spiritually, I think your love and concern for your grandmother played a great role in her change of spirits.

I hope so. I ordered her a big, REALLY nice (and not inexpensive) snuggie clone for Christmas so she can be symbolically wrapped her grandson's love whenever she uses it and remember how much I care about her. I'm a sentimental fuck, but so is most of my family.

:D I'm on the up in my classes. These soon to come finals will be stressful, but after good luck on my quiz today, I only have to make a 50 (possibly less after the rest of the grades come in...) on my last test in one class to break a C! If I manage to get an A on that last test, that might even bump my total grade to a B. All of my other classes are either sure fire, or in the case of one, very easily gotten if I keep on my toes.

:( The dawning of the semester be over is hitting me. Overall, its a good thing, but it has me bashing my head into the wall over something I should have done and didn't. If I do it now, it'll be pretty stupid, but if I wait, I might miss my chance...

@Elkin- Glad to hear that. I won't comment on the religious end, but that's a good outcome no matter where you stand.

:x Speaking of FFXV, I am currently chatting with Amazon customer service about the meaning of release date shipping. My copy just shipped when I should have got it today. Looks like they are going to give me an extra month of Prime membership as compensation. I guess I will be waiting another two or three days before I can play it.

Elkin... I have no words. I'm gonna say good for you, but that's like calling winning the lottery a bit lucky. I lost my grandmother 5 years ago at about the same age and I can only imagine how horrifying it would have been to hear those words and how much I would have cried too. I'm very glad to hear she's doing better, I hope it lasts a very long time.

My own smile today (other than reading that now): got the repaired monitor back for my red tent. Just barely over $100, and it works great. Took a bit of fiddling with pots to get the colors/brightness right (and it might still be a bit dark) but I'm now at a working red tent (with 1 missing button and janky joysticks) for $200.

You can play it without patching it, it just adds in some new moves and things like the screen going red when low on health, etc. I actually played about 4 hours last night without patching, then I let it update while I slept.

Well I'm still going to have to end up waiting to grab it anyways. I'm waiting to see how the next few weeks turn out before I go crazy trying to find a few things like that....I've been eyeing that game for the past year since it looks like something I'd enjoy...

 - *sigh* something tells me I should've picked a different band after my experience with the sick puppies concert. I doubt I'm going to get 2 single spaced pages out of this. There's not much you can "review" and say about a concert where the only stuff you could hear was what little that was possible to hear and comprehend. Also have a paper that's going to end up being due saturday that I still have half of it to write. I've been dozing off trying to start these that I've had to distract myself just to stay awake. So ready to be done with this semester and hope that I can do some kind of catch up to get my paper skills up to par for ENG-112 I'm going to be taking. Breaks are going to be my major video game segways to keep myself going from now on apparently so I can just get done with this soon...

:D Decided that in lieu of a Retro Bit Generations, I'd rather make my own Pi-based console. Put all the stuff I need on an Amazon wishlist and shared it on Facebook. I figure that with the basic parts (Pi3 mobo, case w/ fan and heat sinks, 32GB microSD card) and a few things that'd be nice to have (a pair of off-brand PS3 controllers for $26, a wireless keyboard and mouse), it'd cost just a bit more than an Retro Bit Generations, but with the benefit of playing all of its games AND the arcade versions (which aren't on the device  ) AND all the games on the NES Classics Edition AND the Sega one AND a shit-ton more!!
