What are the xbox 360 marketplace must haves for this system

Post by mas »

Hey everyone,
Just did a quick search on this and couldn't find anything on it but since the xbox 360 came out 11 years ago and I feel that the xbox live marketplace may be shut down soon, hopefully not but my son just got a 360 elite from a friend for his birthday. I think its the 250 gb model I'm not sure since there is no hardrive. Hopefully I will find one cheap after xmas. Anyways,
My son asked what he should get for the live marketplace and since I'm sick today and before I get into work id thought id ask the question of what are the must haves for the 360 marketplace.
For each genre would be great so for me who loves arcade and shmups I would have to go for
The raiden series
Under defeat
Capcom collection arcade
mortal kombat collection
For fps fans
doom
doom 2
castle of wofinstein

Sports fans
madden arcade
nba jam on fire edition
tecmo bowl
rbi baseball

I think you get the idea. I feel that if anyone gets a cheap 360 and wants to buy some decent games on the marketplace this thread will help. I want it to cover the best games so people can get them before the 360 marketplace dies before people get a chance to get anything decent

the XBLA versions of Doom 1 and 2 are included in the Doom 3 BFG edition on PS3 and 360 if you wanted to get them for cheap and physical

I didn't think of it but I have a pretty good list of games for myself on the system. I never play the thing maybe I should give it a go this month while I wait till next year to get things going. I'm missing some shmups I should get. I know which ones are the good ones. Maybe I ask for a gift card from Xbox this xmas in order to get some

Some you forgot:
Cthulhu Saves the World (Indie RPG)
Quake Arena Arcade (it's Quake)
Murder Miners (indie FPS modeled from Halo 2)
Duke Nukem 3D
Dorito's Crash Course 1 and 2 (FREE obstacle course platforming games)
Marathon Durandel (I think it's a remake of Marathon 2)
Yu-Gi-Oh! Millennium Duels (if your kid is into that)

These are all that I can think of off the top of my head.

Treasure has a few games on there in HD that are great. Radiant Silvergun, Guardian Heroes, a sequel to Bangai-O.

This is a sequel? I just thought it was a remake.

I'll have to pick it up.

I think for next year I might just want to go digital for a bit if I'm buying games. I downloaded a bunch of free trials and some of the hd classics look fantastic. I mean I played r type dimensions and wow was I impressed

Geometry Wars. All three of them. The absolute best twin stick shooter I've ever played.

Mark of the Ninja is a 2D stealth game with great art style. The stealth mechanics are tight.

If your interest in classic remakes they have Serious Sam 1 & 2 HD, the two Banjo-Kazooi games, and lastly Perfect Dark.

Shadow Complex is a great Metroidvania.

Pac-Man: Championship Edition is a great classic redone with pretty colors. That game can get combo crazy!

And last but certainly not least is N+. 2D platformer with rage inducing fun.
