That's the point, the birth control is for people who DON'T want kids, and hormonal contraceptives are the single best method for preventing pregnancy that isn't abstinence. It's already been demonstrated that abstinence education doesn't work. So if you want to reduce the incidence of teen pregnancy, deadbeat dads, and abortion then you should be supporting birth control for everyone.
I never mentioned abstinence. Just that if one wants to have sex, be ready for the consequences which sadly so many do not. Can't afford the prescription birth control pills then buy a pack of rubbers instead of the booze. Today's society is so ingrained that the responsibility is the Government to provide for their needs and fix their poor judgement.

Added the other part of my previous Reply stating my reason why.

How many are cutoff from Health Care due to expense for say Cancer on a premium runs out? Yet Birth Control Pills, Viagra and Weight Loss Surgery are allowed in the budget!

Condoms are only 98% effective when used perfectly; hormonal contraceptives are 99.7% effective. And it is much easier to improperly use a condom, which drops the effectiveness down to 82%. Additionally, hormonal contraceptives cut the rate of ovarian and endometrial cancers in half.

This is not a case of fixing poor judgement. They're trying to exercise good judgement but the cost is prohibitive for some.

Donald Trump has picked Betsy DeVos for Secretary of Education.

Betsy DeVos does not have an education degree.
Betsy DeVos does not have any teaching experience.
Betsy DeVos has no experience working in a public school environment.
Betsy DeVos never attended a public school or state university.
Betsy DeVos never put her children into public schools.
Betsy DeVos does not believe in or support public education.
Betsy DeVos believes public school teachers are overpaid.
Betsy DeVos supports for-profit education.
Betsy DeVos, like VP Mike Pence, is a major advocate for voucher programs that funnel money out of public schools and into for-profit Christian-based education programs, at tax payer expense.

Well, I think it's obvious that Elkin is overpaid. He makes enough that he can post on Racketboy.

The warning flag for me is that she never taught in a classroom and supports Charter Schools, a Major Disaster! The positive is she supports school choice. I'm for school choice provided students in a given neighborhood are not bumped out and the longer drive distances are covered by the family wanting the other school. I know, We did that a decade ago when my son's elementary teacher recognizing my son's consistent "A" scores; recommended sending my son to another Public School district for middle and high school which had much stronger emphasis "Graduation to College". A good move and I will always be thankful to that PUBLIC School Elementary Teacher, my son now exceeding in College today.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charter_school

Charter school is a U.S. and Canadian term for a school that receives government funding but operates independently of the established public school system in which it is located, and in some cases are privately owned. Charter schools are an example of alternative education.

Never liked the ideology of Charter Schools, though some had success, some have failures. Government funded schools must follow states policies concerning education, not individual schools deciding what to teach the kids. So much for separation of Church and State.

Too many sites are biased one way or other on Charter vs Public Education. This site appears neutral with two pages laying out descriptions of each phase.
http://www.socialsolutions.com/blog/cha ... c-schools/

Despite their prevalence, many parents and community members are still unclear about the relationship between traditional public schools and charter schools. The competition for public education dollars and concerns about privately-run public education raises the stakes in charter school conversations, making it difficult to find objective information and unbiased analysis.

This side-by-side unbiased comparison of charter schools and traditional public schools is broken down into two parts. Part 1 will focus on an overview of how each school is structured and how they work. Part 2 will look at the strengths and weaknesses of each type of school.

Psst, Betsy DeVos is a horrible pick for secretary of Education. Charter school are terrible, school of choice is a good principle but ignores the root of the problem: how schools are funded.

Follow the money on this one: the DeVos family is loaded and this the predicate on Trump's choosing of her.

I watch many friends here in Michigan get pink slipped year after year, whom graduated from college before I did with their teaching degrees.

I took my provisional teaching certificate and went into Higher Ed, since I didn't want to go into the start of the school year wondering if I had a job or not. No thanks.

So, that is click-bait for sure. I'd still like to hear an argument that defies the logic within.

This should be a required reading for Pro-Life conservatives who don't support social programs.

Love it! Great news and tons of celebrations (though pointless) thru out the nation. Even the media stating change of power, teasing of a more open government in Cuba.

Wake up people, Raul Castro has been the dictator in Cuba since 2006, nothing has changed!

So was the Trade Embargo being lifted good or bad for Americans?

Donald Trump Could Reverse Obama's Cuba Policy 'Fairly Quickly'

“Obama’s regulatory changes could be reversed fairly quickly. Trump could order it on day one but it would take the Treasury Department a few weeks to rewrite the regulations,” William LeoGrande, professor of government at American University and co-author of "Back Channel to Cuba," told ABC News.

During the campaign, Trump said he planned to roll back Obama’s executive actions, which include lifting restrictions on cigars and rum imports. "But all of the concessions that Barack Obama has granted the Castro regime were done through executive order, which means the next president can reverse them and that I will do unless the Castro regime meets our demands,” Trump said at a campaign rally in Miami on Sept. 16. “Not my demands, our demands. You know what the demands are. Those demands will include religious and political freedom for the Cuban people and the freeing of political prisoners."

Because everything Obama did to open Cuba was done through executive action and regulatory changes, it could be reversed if Trump wanted to. Regulatory changes include changes to policies within the Departments of Transportation, Treasury and Commerce. Direct commercial flights between the two countries were worked out by the Department of Transportation. Meanwhile, the Department of Treasury has eased the restrictions on travel to Cuba, allowing a "people-to-people" exchange for educational purposes. To reverse those would require regulatory changes, which are more tedious to undo, but could be rescinded.

DEFEDE: Let’s talk Cuba for a second. You’ve recently come out with a much harder line, saying that you would repeal some of President Obama’s executive orders. I just want to be specific. Would you break off diplomatic relations with Cuba?

TRUMP: Look, Cuba has to treat us fairly and it has to treat the people of Cuba fairly and the people living here that were from Cuba or their families were from Cuba. The agreement President Obama signed is a very weak agreement. We get nothing. The people of Cuba get nothing and I would do whatever is necessary to get a good agreement. An agreement is fine. It has to be a strong, good agreement that’s good for the Cuban people.

DEFEDE: I just want to press, would you break off diplomatic relations though on Day One?

TRUMP: I would do whatever you have to do to get a strong agreement. And people want an agreement, I like the idea of an agreement, but it has to be a real agreement. So if you call that for negotiation purposes, whatever you have to do to make a great deal for the people of Cuba. So important.

Yup.

If you're gay, you may want to make sure your marriage plans get bumped up to before January 20th (inauguration day). Those marriage equality rights aren't safe any more.

If you have medicare or medicaid, you might want to see your doctor before January 20th. That won't last.

If you have a pre-existing medical condition, get on private insurance now because (even though he says otherwise) I imagine they will go backwards on this too and you'll go back to being denied insurance for your pre-existing condition once they repeal the Affordable Care Act.

Make sure you get really smart about your privacy because the NSA will have more power than ever.
