The reason companies release technology like oled while it's still rediculously overpriced and unrefined is because people DO buy it like that. There are people who have to have the latest technology no matter the cost and will be early adopters. Why send endless money down the toilet developing this technology when you can have it out there making you money? Like CD burners. They were thousands of dollars when they first came out, but people bought them. People who wouldn't spend that kind of money saw them and went, wow, that's really cool, I'd buy that if I could afford it. The tech sits on shelves and whether everyone adopts it or not, it is making a name for itself. If 5 years from now they run a commercial that says "Hey, OLED tvs, 50" for $1500" people would go what the hell is that? If it starts making a name as a high end technology right now, 5 years from now people will have heard of it and think "Hey, I remember when OLED tvs were way more expensive, but now I can get one for $1500? What a deal!
Etc.
Will you buy an OLED tv.
Re: Will you buy an OLED tv.
Oh I get the idea now
But as a company I would feel bad selling something for high price
knowing that there is like a ton of faults within the product.
Like the burn-ins in the early plasmas, and short life of a product, etc...

You mean in AMERICA they stopped the production.
They are still in the market here. I noticed they are not the main attraction
anymore , but they are still out there.

Nope just upgraded to a 42" Panasonic Plasma. I don't see the benefit other than smaller size and lack of backlight.

Then I can say for a fact you will not be running a big corporation! Quality? Who cares about quality when we can make money on total shit!

Still using a Samsung 27" CRT, had it for about 15 years now. Works fine, except for some strange wave motions in the screen when I'm gaming. I have another Sylvania 20" CRT set that I got only 5 years ago and will prolly keep around in the long run for my older consoles.
I've been wanting to upgrade to a Samsung 32" LCD TV. Saw some at Best Buy for $500 but slept on 'em, and when I went back they were gone. Still gonna look around for a similar deal.
