I'm sure plenty won't my attitude on this, but of those 3 bullet point I support #2 and #3, but #1 with the NSA disgusts me. Snowden should get busted and whatever the court decides, even death, so be it. And I have no issue with a place like gitmo nor do I over what some consider torture to extract info considering some stuff that has been mined from it can be beneficial. You take it off the table, then your captive knows they can just keep quiet and locked up and let whatever happens(planned), happens.

Donald Trump has appointed Steve Bannon as his senior counselor.

I was going to highlight my personal concerns about this appointment, as I did with Jeff Sessions and Mike Pompeo, but I know a lot of you are excrutiatingly tired of hearing what I have to say. Instead, I found this extended lecture and Q&A where Steve Bannon explains his world view. I recommend reading through this to gain a more nuanced version of how he thinks about the world. You can see for yourself what he thinks the main problems in the world are and how they should be solved. Draw your own conclusions about what this means for when he will be whispering in the president's ear.

Those of you who can't stand me though, put some books in your lap and make sure you don't need to walk in a public space for the next hour, because you are about to get a major chub for this guy.

What is this manifest destiny, lebensraum, nonsense? The man is a real nutter. Yeah, a time of peace before WWI? Does that include:

Spanish-American War
Boxer Rebellion
Franco-Prussian War
All of the Anglo-Indian Wars
Russo-Japanese War
First Balkan War
Second Balkan War
Banana Wars

Looks like some of those good ole Judeo-Christian values that are being spread with capitalism!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_w ... E2%80%9344

Look at how many of those wars involved Western Nations, through the guise of Imperialism. Europe and the US were great when we were raping and pillaging! I haven't made it through the rest of the article, but how naive is he to whitewash our own human history?

Edit: Some of his populist economic principles seem to make sense. Criminal indictments for those contributing to the 2008 financial crisis, some criticism of the export-import bank? I'm not sure if they were just good talking points he decided to hit on.

His secularism and stances on Islam are out there.

Thanks for putting up the link. Trump is smart by using Twitter and YouTube. He reaches the entire country at no expense and no biased control from the Media. His ENTIRE message is intact for the public to decide. Watch the entire message when you want UNEDITED by the media, love it!

The speech went right to each point. No fancy talk, focused right to important steps that should have been done decades ago. There are already cries about no comment on Health Care, but then priority one (which Trump mentions first) is to return jobs by eliminating some of the nonsense that caused job loss. I love the statement "For every new Regulation, two have to be eliminated first." The get rid of the Lobbyists plan is outstanding! Lock them out from stepping on the Congress "Campus", the focus has to be on what the nation wishes.

Trump Update on Day 1 to 100 Plan and Transition Team Progress

In a new Transition Team video released on Monday, President-elect Donald J. Trump updated the American people on his “putting America First” plans from day one of his presidency to the 100th day, including executive actions and policy matters, as well as the progress of Transition Team efforts.

A transcript of President-elect Trump’s video message reads as follows:
Donald Trump on YouTube wrote:Today, I would like to provide the American people with an update on the White House transition and our policy plans for the first 100 days.

Our transition team is working very smoothly, efficiently, and effectively. Truly great and talented men and women, patriots indeed are being brought in and many will soon be a part of our government, helping us to Make America Great Again.

My agenda will be based on a simple core principle: Putting America First.

Whether it’s producing steel, building cars, or curing disease, I want the next generation of production and innovation to happen right here, in our great homeland: America – creating wealth and jobs for American workers.

As part of this plan, I’ve asked my transition team to develop a list of executive actions we can take on day one to restore our laws and bring back our jobs. It’s about time.

These include the following:

On trade, I am going to issue our notification of intent to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a potential disaster for our country. Instead, we will negotiate fair, bilateral trade deals that bring jobs and industry back onto American shores.

On energy, I will cancel job-killing restrictions on the production of American energy – including shale energy and clean coal – creating many millions of high-paying jobs. That’s what we want, that’s what we’ve been waiting for.

On regulation, I will formulate a rule which says that for every one new regulation, two old regulations must be eliminated, it’s so important.

On national security, I will ask the Department of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to develop a comprehensive plan to protect America’s vital infrastructure from cyber-attacks, and all other form of attacks.

On immigration, I will direct the Department of Labor to investigate all abuses of visa programs that undercut the American worker.

On ethics reform, as part of our plan to Drain the Swamp, we will impose a five-year ban on executive officials becoming lobbyists after they leave the Administration – and a lifetime ban on executive officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.

These are just a few of the steps we will take to reform Washington and rebuild our middle class.

I will provide more updates in the coming days, as we work together to Make America Great Again for everyone and I mean everyone.
Trump has been holding meetings with numerous potential Trump Administration appointees. Last week meetings took place at Trump Tower in New York City, and over the weekend Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence met with leaders from political, business, education, and military backgrounds from across the country at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

I'll throw this out there. I think Trump either planned it or listened to this Washington Post contributor who has been going around recently doing interviews. He basically said that going forward the press should be punished for their one sided handling of Trump in the election cycle when he's in office. To do this, go directly to the people and around them, let them report on what he's already put out there without their ability to mangle it so well. He said use social media, youtube, and other avenues to talk with the people directly so the press have to be held accountable or be proven as lackies, liars and shills. Good on him for doing it. This way he can either succeed or bury himself in his own stupid mistakes on his own without left wing media manipulation of the story. That said, good on him for stepping up early and laying out what to expect out of his house through April basically.

...oh an linking breitbart? Bad idea, they went into the crapper once the namesake died.

I'll listen to that clip while I work, but needless to say if those bullet points are on the nose and not tweaked I'm loving the sound of that stuff. There's going to be a lot of pissed off angry politicians who have lied about doing stuff and not doing it for years or longer and he's got at least 2 good years to tear up some of the corruption going on. Like or hate the guy, if he can get this countries real unemployment down to the fake reported number now (not covering people who gave up, took early social security, or two many part time jobs to scrape by, etc) more power to him. If he can really get away with stomping lobbyists and other pond scum in DC too, fantastic. We'll finally see if it takes a businessman to clean up the damned disaster a bunch of self serving politicians on both sides caused.

Very interesting Q&A. Certainly not the font of evil he's being portrayed as, but I can certainly see where some folks are going to have some big disagreements with some of his views.

Critical thinking! I CHOOSE YOU!!!
Donald Trump on YouTube wrote:Our transition team is working very smoothly, efficiently, and effectively. Truly great and talented men and women, patriots indeed are being brought in and many will soon be a part of our government, helping us to Make America Great Again.
Evidence, please? Steve Bannon - who considers America's foremost Neo-Nazi a great intellectual - doesn't seem like such a great pick for any position in the White House (or such a great "patriot").
Donald Trump on YouTube wrote:My agenda will be based on a simple core principle: Putting America First.
How bold! Most people put America second of fourth. (For some reason, not many people put America third, though...I don't know why.)
Donald Trump on YouTube wrote:On trade, I am going to issue our notification of intent to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a potential disaster for our country. Instead, we will negotiate fair, bilateral trade deals that bring jobs and industry back onto American shores.
Withdrawing from the TPP is a policy decision. (It's a bad one, but at least there's some substance there.) Good luck on negotiating "fair, bilateral trade deals that bring jobs and industry back to American shores." That's kind of what all of them are designed to do, but if you think you can do better, knock yourself out. Helping people whose jobs have been displaced is probably going to take a lot more than that, however, and aside from running up the federal deficit through infrastructure spending - which is a good idea the deficit hawks controlling the Congress will never let you accomplish - I haven't seen many proposals that will actually help working people. (Hillary had some good ones...maybe you can borrow some from her playbook.)
Donald Trump on YouTube wrote:On energy, I will cancel job-killing restrictions on the production of American energy – including shale energy and clean coal – creating many millions of high-paying jobs. That’s what we want, that’s what we’ve been waiting for.
So...the environmental protection regulations that so many of us take for granted today? I don't know about you, but I won't be thrilled when I have to keep my children inside all the time to keep them from developing emphysema. I should probably go ahead and make some trips to the beach and our national parks before they are littered with oil rigs too. Also, "clean coal" is a myth and a marketing term coined by a dying industry.
Donald Trump on YouTube wrote:On regulation, I will formulate a rule which says that for every one new regulation, two old regulations must be eliminated, it’s so important.
Is this cover for leaving all federal regulations where they are right now? Also, this is an absolutely abysmal way to draft policy. (Can we just cram a bunch of stuff into one regulation and eliminate two "placeholders"?)
Donald Trump on YouTube wrote:On national security, I will ask the Department of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to develop a comprehensive plan to protect America’s vital infrastructure from cyber-attacks, and all other form of attacks.
Um...I think we already have that.
Donald Trump on YouTube wrote:On immigration, I will direct the Department of Labor to investigate all abuses of visa programs that undercut the American worker.
You mean, keep doing what it does right now?
Donald Trump on YouTube wrote:On ethics reform, as part of our plan to Drain the Swamp, we will impose a five-year ban on executive officials becoming lobbyists after they leave the Administration – and a lifetime ban on executive officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.
Cool. This is a fine policy proposal. By the time it is drafted, I think you will be able to drive a truck through the loopholes, and I think it could have the unintended effect of: (1) making it more difficult to attract talented people to work in government; and (2) creating more lifelong bureaucrats disconnected from the industries subject to their regulation.

....

One final point, Trump is smart to bypass the media. Not because it is biased against him, but because it will keep him from having to answer questions about his administration and his policy proposals from anyone besides his most fawning supporters. Keep that in mind the next time he releases a YouTube video about how great he's doing.

President Barack Obama today unveiled 21 recipients for the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor presented to those “who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.” This list is loaded with Hollywood figures: Tom Hanks, Ellen DeGeneres, Robert De Niro, Lorne Michaels, Robert Redford, Diana Ross, Bruce Springsteen, Dodgers announcer Vin Scully and Cicely Tyson.

I'm not even familiar with that site, just linked to obtain Trump's YouTube Transcript for a line by line study.

This is why I like Trump's method of reaching the public. He is judged on what he puts out unedited. Any questions asked back to his Twitter or YouTube postings are from the public and not self serving media. Yes, he can decide to answer or not; a smart move on his part.
Donald Trump on Twitter wrote:https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/

6hr - I cancelled today's meeting with the failing @nytimes when the terms and conditions of the meeting were changed at the last moment. Not nice

6h - The failing @nytimes just announced that complaints about them are at a 15 year high. I can fully understand that - but why announce?

6hr - Perhaps a new meeting will be set up with the @nytimes. In the meantime they continue to cover me inaccurately and with a nasty tone!

5hr - Great meetings will take place today at Trump Tower concerning the formation of the people who will run our government for the next 8 years.

1h - The meeting with the @nytimes is back on at 12:30 today. Look forward to it!
He is meeting with the NY Times this morning, interesting on the "Off The Record/On The Record" agreement. Funny thing is it took Trump's Twitter post (which can be read by all) to get results.

When Trump calls a meeting all the media show up!

Of course the nation considers put America first. Trump's message is remove all the pandering in Washington such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership, Nafta, Foreign Aid, and in the U.S. the over restrictive Regulations. Be interesting to see who has invested in exclusive Health Care and Solar Panels before the new regulations kicked in years ago and now will be dumped to equal footing.
