I'm definitely not getting one at launch. I want it, but at the same time I've got to get financially stable and want to focus on what consoles I have at the moment. I'm definitely interested, and if there was more info I'd make a dedicated switch thread...
Plenty of 3/DS, GB/C/A, S/NES/SFC/FC, GEN/MD, and dreamcast to keep me busy(the latter i need to dive further into I think i only have maybe 10 titles for it and they're basically copies of psx atari titles I have...). Which I want to weed out a few to make my beaten vs unbeaten slide towards more beaten...

Well true it would come down to price. I am getting one no question, two is a bit crazy, but possible if the price is right.
If there are stepped price bundles, then yeah we will probably endup with two close to launch. One full version, one portable only. Then again, I always say dont trust the rumors. There are alot of them coming out of Lets Play Videogames and other blogs that are not showing up on news sites, so who knows. Everyone has an uncle that works at Nintendo.

I just laugh whenever Zelda gets delayed. I swear it felt like OoT was delayed for 2-3 years and changed so much over the course of its development, with so many magazines and screens being things that weren't even in the final product. Crazy times. Since then I just crack up when Zelda's get pushed back and am never disappointed.

Yeah it's definitely mildly annoying but I'm still looking forward to it. It's shaping up to be a modern day zelda 1 since honestly from everything i've read, seen and played it's a super early open world game. But now this one seems to be returning to that aspect. Honestly can't wait to see what happens, nintendo is definitely cranking out games that are piquing my interest right now...

The pricing rumor comes from Toys r Us listing it on their Canadian site for $329 Canadian, which'd likely mean $250ish in the US (it's listed on plenty of sites if you search). They NEEDED a named that would keep people from thinking that it was some add-on or upgrade to the Wii/Wii U or 3DS/DS, and the "Switch" does that just fine. That's why if it does have motion controls of some kind, if it does have a touch screen, they didn't show that in the trailer to distance themselves from their previous products as much as possible. They needed to make it totally unambiguous to the average consumer that this was a totally new product, a step up, and I think the name does that just fine. I'd be lying if I said it didn't annoy me that Zelda got delayed, but (excluding the CD-i shit), I can't think of a single bad Zelda game. There have certainly been some that were better than others and some that I enjoyed much more than others, but none of them have been bad games.
A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.
It's not a name that I would have expected, but if you think it about it, it makes perfect sense. It's switching the paradigm of home and mobile gaming from a binary system to a singular, combined system. It's that same symbolic thinking that made me EXTREMELY disappointed that the Wii didn't keep the name Revolution given how dramatically it revolutionized gaming (even if that revolution wasn't widely appreciated or embraced by core gamers).darsparx wrote:Still seems like a weird name to me though(even compared to wii, gamecube, and wii u
