Yeah it is possible, I'm running that set up right now. I have a VGA box connected to my 17inch LCD that looks great, but only at 60hz (that won't be a problem if your in the states). The box is a french device that converts composite to VGA and its called the GamerOn (?) VGA box. Just look for a VGA box and you should come up with something similar. I think they can be had pretty cheap, but paying more money gets better results...

Your post is less useful than mine. I'm just tired of answering this question.andymol21 wrote:Useful...Mozgus wrote:Yes, no, no.

You're talking about a converter box, which will have terrible picture quality with some lag. It's converting to interlaced and then back to progressive. Thats pointless.
A true gamecube VGA cable has to be custom made and requires the elusive official component cables for gamecube. They aren't cheap. And any games that cant do progressive will not put out a display at all on VGA.
Re: Gamecube to VGA?
Im not going to call you an idiot, but I will say that converting composite to VGA is, well... still composite. You really should try to figure out what exactly you are talking about before making sarcastic comments about posts that are far more useful than your misdirection.andymol21 wrote:Useful...Mozgus wrote:Yes, no, no.

Re: Gamecube to VGA?
What I described was a means of connecting a Gamecube to a VGA monitor via a cheap(ish) and easy VGA box. I think it satisfied the original question perfectly well.

I agree. Your post was fine.andymol21 wrote:What I described was a means of connecting a Gamecube to a VGA monitor via a cheap(ish) and easy VGA box. I think it satisfied the original question perfectly well.
Noiseredux didn't ask, "How do I make a vga cable?" He asked how to do a GC to VGA....which is exactly what andy has done.
Sure a custom made component to vga is awesome, but it's not as practical considering the limited game support and it also isn't the only way to go vga.
Re: Gamecube to VGA?
No one in their right mind would speak Gamecube and VGA in the same sentence, if they just wanted some converter box.BigTinz wrote:I agree. Your post was fine.

Re: Gamecube to VGA?
No you did not answer the question at all. The question was Gamecube to VGA... NOT gamecube to interlaced composite displayed on a VGA monitor for absolutely no reason at all.
I don't think you geniuses get it... your converter box is not getting VGA out of your Gamecube... at all... in any way. Are you really that confused? You wasted whatever you spent on your converter and didn't even know what VGA looks like enough to know that you were not recieving a progressive scan signal all this time.
Sorry but you need to face it... you made an uninformed decision and wasted your money.

Re: Gamecube to VGA?
I didnt mean to cause so much arguing.
My question meant: Can you use a computer monitor with Gamecube?
