The stuff I saw last night, the Clinton corp seemed like they had already given up and were just "thankful" they got that far, etc. Probably too busy covering their dirty tracks recently I bet. It's so amusing how the media did a 180 within this final week and started to speak more positively about Trump. Despite telling us for an entire year that Hillary was dominating... now look who won. They wouldn't want to ruin their legitimacy and "facts" now would they? And then her case opening up again is icing on the cake, because I bet those people involved were like "whoops, if Trump gets in we might be in big trouble..." so they try to look good in the end there.

What Trump can do remains to be seen and I'm not sold on him, but Clinton played a very dirty game and good riddance.
See and i agree on Hillary. I want a female president as much as anyone but I would never waste a vote on her. I'm interested to see how it plays out though seeing as it's republican dominated from top to bottom up there from the looks of it now. My problem with hillary though is deep rooted in her constantly switching sides and the fact we've gone so politically correct that I feel like there isn't much I can say without offending someone. I just hope that maybe now the ACA gets fixed(I've seen quite a few people that since BCBS is the only option that their premiums have gone from like 200 to like 1k if i'm correct in my memory either way it was a major jump), and the whole slew of other things. It feels like when they're evenly matched nothing gets done and is the cause of the constant stalemate on everything...

So what is the post-mortem talk wrt Clinton over there now?

Something along the lines of: "Democrats picked the wrong horse and they got burned" ?

In any case, so when does construction start on the wall? :P

Funny how folks who were complaining about the Electoral College being unfair and stupid are strangely silent. Funny how Trump ran on a platform of "The system is rigged," but hasn't walked back that statement at all now that the system has benefited him.

I maintain that the electoral college is unfair and stupid, thank you very much.

Anyone crying over Trump right now still flailing the bigot/racist/homophobe/-ist garbage needs to grow up as that was manufactured stupidity. There are many genuine provable reasons that were out there that could have been hammered harder like on women, certain business aspects, his "university" but instead it was the fear and hate card the left played, a card a LOT of people are goddamn sick and tired of.

It's not just that you need to blame the Democrats for being in the tank back in the primaries for her, but also just in general the last 8 years of policy shift under Obama. Race relations at an all time low, relations to the police as well (right or wrong case by case), left leaning policies in relation to trade sending jobs and material production overseas losing jobs, and even just the superficial horrible treatment of anyone who doesn't agree automatically is (fill in the blank-- racist, homophobe, stupid, uneducated, a redneck, anti-(some)-ist/ism.) No poverty level to middle class white people want to hear how they so called have white(male or not) privledge and should shut the fuck up and deal when they can't pay their bills any better than anyone else.) People had enough shit and Trump got it. They wanted a non politician, and someone who doesn't act anything like what we've been dealing with for years now. Did you see the numbers in formerly blue states overnight? Unions which usually have like a good 80/20 split for democrats voting wise were coming in over 50% for Trump because he went around and told them they're not haters, they're taken advantage of ignored (majority white) people who are losing their jobs to material and production being done overseas while being lied to by union bosses and the left who is to blame for it. Oddly even Trump had record turn out among minorities too, higher than McCain, Romney and more or less Bush with the latino and black vote which is nuts. The left fucked themselves, then by placing Hillary there put the last nails in the coffin.

Oh and I still believe the EC to be bullshit. Yes it would put that evil harpy in office, but it is what it is. This isn't 100+ years ago when many people couldn't read or get the info needed to vote and were lied to due to illiteracy or other reasons. It should literally come down to one vote (like the Swing Vote movie a few years back mocking both parties buttkissing one dude in a trailer in some small state trying to buy his vote.)

Yeah. Manufactured directly from the man himself. Give me a break...

I'm tired of hearing that Blue with blindly follow a candidate when Red will stupidly throw any jackass in office just to stick with their party. This has been proven time and again. Trump is every bit of what he is accused of, and that is just what he will publicly admit to. Just because it's embarassing to vote for such a jackass doesn't mean you need to project.

What the fuck are you actually talking about? The EC didn't put her in office. She's probably going to narrowly win the popular vote, and lose the Electoral College. And I'd argue that the level of informed voting is still pretty prevalent. If there's one instance where you're wrong, this is one. It needs to be named and you really correct your statement or clarify what you actually meant.

We've elected someone who has normalized attitudes of sexism and misogny, bragged about forcing himself on women. We've elected someone who has mocked the disabled. He's alienated and shat on people of color, the LGBTQIA+ community, and Muslims. At the end of the day, the only thing I'll have to worry about is how my 403b is doing. Nope, he's culminated and normalized hateful rhetoric that will put the brunt of the impact on the people I've listed above. I'll wait and see if he can rise to the challenge and bring in those folks he insulted, hurt, and dehumanized over the campaign.

And so the basket of deplorables turned out to be a mountain of angry white fists. The great silent majority tsunami came, breaking the media perpetuated pretenses like so many paper tigers. Behold the republicans took the house, the senate and the POTUS. Thus the crashing wave subsided into a sea of democratic tears. Yet the highly vocal left wing extremists on this forum should look on the bright side; you'll have no end of things to complain about for the next eight years.
