Instead, there are basically 38 unique missions (you need to do a handful of the side-ops too and/or some other things). 31 in chapter 1, and 7 unique (and 12 repeat) in chapter 2. I'd look more at where you are with those than the percentage given.
this is good to hear.
Control is comparable to other MGS games. Not necessarily perfect, no, but par for the course I guess. I played the game on PS4 though, so I didn't try KB/mouse.
I'll give it another go. I think in my case I'll be happier if I can get comfy w/ keyboard and mouse on this one. It's really how I prefer to play third person games in general. I thought it was a great way to control Lara Croft for instance. But it just feels so clunky here - similar to how it felt playing Witcher 3 w/ kb+m actually. But in the case of W3 I was able to just switch to controller since combat didn't really on aiming guns, y'know?

d00d, keyboard/mouse for third person is so gross to me.

I think MGSV's controls are like, basically literal perfection (as is the gameplay). Compare it to stuff like GTA or Assassin's Creed and it's just a complete joke how janky and awful those feel in comparison.

I found it to be incredibly easy to get headshots with a gamepad. Played it on the PS4.

y'know what? I don't think it makes me a horrible person if I decide that MGSV just isn't for me. In fact, I think it's okay to admit that.

Yup.

My brother is a big AAA guy and I got to play this at his house. It's one of the worst things ever. It's so terrible that it almost feels intentional - like a parody of a bad game. I can't wrap my head around how something like this is so critically acclaimed.

oh I don't think it's a bad game. I just don't feel particularly compelled to play it.

I could see you saying this about the story or the general presentation, that's a style that isn't for everyone. But, the missions themselves and the gameplay in general is extremely solid. Maybe it's not your kind of game, but it's not a bad one, not by a long shot.
