Re: RPG Progress Report
got my first death in I Am Setsuna. The werewolf on the airship is a bit of a jerk - especially since the party is without a healer at that point.
Re: RPG Progress Report
Started up Witcher 3, grabbed the GOTY edition on the Steam sale last weekend.
Wish me luck noise, because I might be the next guy where this game just simply doesn't click with me. It doesn't help that I've had several friends talk about it for what feels like the last 18 months probably. So it was almost like a rage buy to finally maybe shut some people up about it.
Really though I'm going in optimistic and it's pulling me in more than 2 ever did, but I'm still... iffy on it.

Tales of Phantasia - *WARNING spoilers ahead scroll past if you want to avoid, not my fault if you don't. Got the idea from a series I think I saw ack do while back and what the heck I'm going to try it...*
Day 1
Well town ended up destroyed when me and Chester went hunting. Absolutely terrifying what we saw when we came back when the bell began to toll. Absolutely no one was able to be saved. Mom came out the house and uttered something about the pendent but lost her before I could do anything about. After leaving Chester to prevent him from being harmed I was captured after going to my Uncle's house.
Day 2
Escaped with mint....poor girl she lost her mother too, know the feeling all to well. Ended up meeting Morrison and seeing master Tristan again. Ended up meeting up with Chester again only to have Mr Morrison rush off when I told him I lost the pendant. Against his wishes we followed and witnessed the reawakening of Dhaos. Only to be sent back in time but lost Chester in the process just so we could go back. Didn't know at first that this was what happened until we met up with Lenios, who dawned on me was the founder of Totus! This just keeps getting crazier and crazier. Somehow we've got to stop Dhaos. The day ended on a awkward note too...only 1 bed between me and Mint....ended up sleeping on the floor instead. Hopefully some answers will come when we visit Elucid tomorrow.
(Man this game is freaking awesome...I don't exactly remember this part from the last time I played. I remember going to a weird town after escaping which is probably the gba version's story. I actually kinda like this day/night storyline so far too, and with the music, it's pretty sweet).

Re: RPG Progress Report
Yeah, this is the farthest I've gotten in the game so far. I don't recall seeing this part when I owned the gba version when I was little. I'm still miffed that I was never able to find the game, I don't recall selling it so I can only figure that i lost it. I'm loving the art and story though. I think I'm going to try and devote a hour a day to playing it. Took me awhile to get it working though because it wanted to be a pain, thought I cleaned it well enough but r5 didn't recognize it at first. I still really want to transfer over to a retrode though....

Re: RPG Progress Report
Probably should add this to the last post but ehh it's more of a update...
Day 3- Left Belladum this morning in a attempt to find someone who could use magic. Lenios said something about a man in Elucid that has been studying magic and might be able to help us since the couple that was studying it had recently passed. Ended up finding him amid his study only for him to try and scare us off with a fake price. His understudy Merid hounded him not to be so rude and after talking he agreed to come with us even though he doesn't know any magic. Supposedly in the Cave of Spirits he can get some magic using rings and contracts with those spirits. We made some preparations only to realize thanks to the man living at the base that we were short some supplies. After traveling into Hamel to get some supplies we made the treck back to the Cavern of spirits. This time learning that we had to actually help the Slyphs we had come for because of leaks of Shoki (air from the spirit realm) since they weren't used to the air anymore. Only to have to end up backtracking once we hit the source of the leaks due to health sapping. Looks like we will be making another attempt latter...

Re: RPG Progress Report
A miracle struck and Witcher 3 is great. I dig it. Steam says I already have like 17 hours already.
I like how it's so much more character focused than Skyrim. Even after 150 some combined hours of Skyrim over the years, I can't name a single character. I barely even touched Witcher 1-2, and knew who Triss was when her name was dropped in this one. Characters themselves look good too, unlike how plastic and random any given character comes off in Bethesda's stuff. Like the King of this huge city could be any random NPC. That doesn't happen here at all. I still like Skyrim's world a lot, Jeremy Soule definitely wins with the music, and the gameplay is great... but Witcher 3 definitely does a LOT of things better from what I'm seeing already. Hopefully I can finish it. 70 hours is my threshold usually for long games.
I also feel like this game has been the best showcasing of my new GTX 1060. Looks incredible.

Re: RPG Progress Report
I've been playing Lunar on the Sega CD, and have been pretty impressed by it. I don't like that there isn't a standard defend, or hold action command in battles, though. I beat the first boss, which was kind of annoying, but I've finished trimming the fat out of my party, so hopefully I'll get some party members who don't just steal money from me. Also, all the magic users in this game seem to be assholes.
