Remember that Niantic is an American software company and Pokemon Go is a global app. Thinking along those lines, it would make sense for there to be a possibility for an event around Easter. I mean, if they do something for Christmas, why not Easter too? I'd be happy with some kind of bonanza egg event. If they do, I predict a lot of Wigglytuffs

An interesting day!

First, I finally got enough candies to get the 773CP Haunter evolved. Now this is a Gengar! Good CP and fantastic moves.
Image
5 km eggs also hatched today with TONS of candy, so I was able to get Magneton! 2 Oddish also hatched so I took a Gloom and made it a Vileplume with Solarbeam! I also got enough candies for Charmander, so it's now a Charmeleon. Jigglypuff is my new buddy, for each 0.25 km is a candy now, and I have less than 10 to go for that one!

The flagpole gym is now Level 10, the first time I've seen *any* team bring it up that far. Saturday will mark 1 week here, the longest stint for this one!
Image
After that I went to my Thursday hangout at the church with the gym and 4 stops. The gym there is also Valor level 10, and I obviously could not get into it. Then I saw one of the stops get a lure with someone who was in that Valor gym who set it up, and it turns out it was the people on Valor who I met at the flagpole gym back in September! The Cubone one of the people left at the flagpole gym at the bottom was a great way to train the gym up, but it turned out they put it in by accident! It was a good chance to exchange gym intelligence information. I mentioned that the nearby temple was still at Level 7 and my Snorlax was still at the bottom, and they went off to see if they could train it. I stayed at the church for a while longer then joined them over to the other gym where despite network issues we were able to train it to Level 9! After a reload stop at the park, I saw another level 9 gym on the way back home that was near another level 10 gym that I put a Vaporeon in last week!
Image
So I trained that gym up to level 10, it only needed 3000 more prestige points. A home for Arcanine, despite it being at the very bottom! Now I'm in both gyms!
Image
Image
BUT, this would have been a happy ending if the Snorlax that was at the temple for 2 weeks today had stayed in. It got returned to me tonight. :( I'm unsure if that level 9 gym was completely tore down or not, after I helped my new people train it up!

So as of right now, I'm still gonna be in 6 gyms, and tomorrow, 2 10km eggs will hatch, so I'm looking forward to that.

Today I found out the gym I lost was just "griefed" down to Level 7 again, with me kicked out of it. Another gym also got the "grief" treatment. If you're gonna do that, take the whole thing down! Or maybe they're just targeting me.

So I got the remaining Jigglypuff candies I needed today and got Wigglytuff with Feint Attack/Play Rough. I had no idea how much HP they get! Mine has 176, close to my Snorlax and Vaporeons!

Both 10km eggs finished today too. First up was Electabuzz with Thunder, a brand new Pokémon! The other of course had to be another Eevee. That's 3 10km eggs I got with Eevees for those of you keeping score. This one appraised well so evolved it and it's now my 3rd Vaporeon and it's got Hydro Pump, so that worked out surprisingly well. I had 4 but I transferred the 500CP one with Aqua Tail, it didn't do me any good. This one is over 1800CP so it's more gym time in my future.

BUT I do have 9 new eggs, 2 2km, 6 5km and a new 10km, gotta get them going while the candy is good!

I've been hatching a bunch of eggs to try and make the most of this double candy, but had some terrible luck yesterday. Got Diglett, Sandshrew, Magikarp and Jynx, all of which I seriously didn't need.

Getting Jynx form a 10km egg is literally the worst.

Got another set of 5km eggs on the go, and a 10 km. Here's hoping for something decent this time.

I did manage to get 30 geodude candies from my graveler buddy though, so I've added Golem to my pokédex. 20 to go:

Need to catch/hatch (7):
Farfetch'd
Grimer
Lickitung
Chansey
Kangaskhan
Tauros
Snorlax

Need to evolve (13):
Venusaur (99 candies needed)
Charmeleon (18 needed)
Charizard (117)
Blastoise (45)
Ninetales (26)
Vileplume (42)
Alakazam (62)
Machamp (37)
Muk (50)
Exeggutor (35)
Omastar (39)
Kabutops (43)
Dragonite (85)

I am currently in the middle of nowhere watching the Michigan vs Michigan State foot all game with a church next door with a gym that I can hit on the couch. Boosted the gym to level 7, put a guy in there. Halloween parade moves through here in an hour and I hope those 4 slots fill up.

For Valor!

Got enough Cubones to make a Marowak. I used the first one I caught last month, best CP and stats. Rock Smash/Bone Club. No Mud Slap or Earthquake but I'll make it work.

I'd like a Jynx!

Unfortunately for me, Jynx is another one of those super common ones here. I already had well over 100 Jynx Candy before I hatched this one. It doesn't get very high CP, it doesn't evolve, and as an ice type it has a ton of weaknesses making it not so hot for attacking gyms - so all of those candy are essentially useless too

So that gym I took yesterday in tge middle of nowhere hich was a filled level 7 gym with very powerful pokemon was taken some time between 12 am and 6 am. My streak of never being able to keep a gym longer tgan 24 hours is still in effect.

Sorry to hear BMF. I lost 2 gyms myself today, down to 5 now. Arcanine's back. I have a feeling I was just taken off the bottom instead of the gym completely going down. I'll find out hopefully soon.

New stuff today thanks to new 5km eggs.

Evolved Electrode with Tackle/Hyper Beam, no electric moves (UGH), another Marowak this time with Mud Slap/Earthquake, a great moveset and I finally got myself a Blastoise, 640CP with Ice Beam, good although I really wanted its version of Hydro Pump. Not one you'd put in a gym but I can still power it up and use it as an attacker, because Ice Beam does deal some decent damage.

Vulpix is my new buddy.

Electrode actually doesn't learn many electric moves naturally in the actual pokémon games too, so it doesn't surprise me.
