I ended up deciding I really wanted to play World of Xeen. I've done most of Clouds of Xeen; at this point the main thing is to do the final dungeon but there are several side dungeons I haven't touched yet.

Fascinating! I played the PSX version. I also have it on PC - I picked it up at Goodwill a few years ago but haven't bothered to play it. Dunno how well it would run on this system.

Seems like most retro console variations of WRPGs are drastically different compared to the PC originals.

Yeah, apparently the PC version was slapped together in seven months while the PS1 version had a couple of years of development. I'd just avoid the PC release. I beat it a few days ago, and I was not impressed.

Huh that's odd. I figured the PC game would be superior.

When did PC/console WRPGs begin to be "co-developed" rather than ported? Did this not begin until the 7th gen with games like Fallout 3 and Skyrim?

I don't want to know.

Games require 3 million developers thesesays so it's a cluster to say the least.

Oblivion was the first major one, as I recall. Morrowind got an Xbox port, but Oblivion was the first one in the Elder Scrolls series to get a dual release at launch (or shortly thereafter; it was clear the development had both platforms in mind).

The packaging is awesome. The disk is contained inside the hardcover art book. And it comes with Japanese voice DLC included.

Probably won't get around to playing it til I'm done with my current Might & Magic binge. And that's assuming I have time before Dishonored 2 hits.

Will you be hitting up Swords of Xeen, or are you leaving that side story to me?

I'm seriously considering it. Depends on how I'm feeling once I finish 5 and then the merged content.
