When I rewatched Batman and Batman Returns I was blown away by how much I still loved them. Destroys the Nolan films.
Then I was blown away by how bad Forever was and stopped there. I watched Batman & Robin growing up enough, but I feel fine never touching that or Forever again.
What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I've been wanting to revisit those Batman movies myself.
I don't take Batman as seriously as most folks so I'm kind of expecting the "gay disco" aesthetic of Batman Forever and Batman & Robin to amuse me more than most fans. But I haven't seen any of them since I was a kid, so we will see...

Both the Grave Encounters films are all right. They have some pacing issues, but they're creepy enough to make up for it, I think.ElkinFencer10 wrote:...does anyone have any suggestions for horror movies in that style? I've seen Blair Witch Project, obviously.
Personally, I enjoyed Spirit Stalkers. It's a combination of standard filming and found footage. It's a lot more subtle than Grave Encounters, but I like subtlety when it's done right. If you have Amazon Prime, you can watch this one for free.

WarGames
With nuclear tensions between the two old dinosaurs flaring up again, there couldn't be a more fitting time to watch WarGames, start to finish, for the first time in my case.

I mean, look at a lot of us in the October horror movie thread... I speak for myself in saying that I'm a big fan of some cheesy camp at times, but Forever and B&R are just downright terrible. You've been warned.Nemoide wrote:I've been wanting to revisit those Batman movies myself.

No comparison between forever and b&r.
Forever is a functional film, b&r is a complete disaster. Although for that very reason some may actually find B&r more entertaining.
In some ways I actually prefer forever to returns as it's actually about batman and robin's incorporation is not completely mishandled.

Meh. The first one was better.

I've seen worse, but I've seen way better. Barely worth a rental.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Also, I saw the made-for-TV Rocky Horror remake.
Meh. Laverne Cox was great, but she was basically a gem in a junk pile.

seen sausage party. i'm a seth rogan fan so i enjoyed it. very vulgar but i knew that going in. as far as adult cartoons i'd recommend it. laughed my ass off.
also seen Mr Church. the wife has wanted to see that since the trailers so i sat down and watched it with her. eddie murphy does a great job in a dramatic role. it's about a man hired to cook for a mistress and her daughter and basically take care of things around the house for 6 months, which basically lasts for 16 or so years. not a bad movie but a bit hollow. so much time passes that you don't really get to know the characters as much as you should. but over all pretty good and eddie did a great job.
the guys that liked the burton batman movies a few pages back should check out mystery men. a superhero comedy well before it's time that was rumored to be directed by burton under a pen name. definitley looks like a burton film and worth a watch. but i'd imagine peeps on this forum would have been the only ones that caught it back in the day lol.

I did see Mystery Men back in the day. I remember not loving it. A little too silly for my taste I guess. Who knows what I'd think now though.
