To me, H2O is second only to the first two.

Huh, I'll have to look into the first Gate. Those effects don't look too bad, but if the first is better that's cool.

I wonder if it just depends on which series you've seen first? I just have such a hard time caring about post Halloween 1 and Michael Meyers when Jason and most of the Friday series is so much cooler to me. Doesn't get cooler! This video always puts me in a happy mood. Halloween forgot to grab the FUN on the way to camp.

Oh, it's fine as a still shot. It's when it's actually in motion that you see how jerky the movements are. The first one was much smoother by comparison.

But yes, see the first one. It's a fun little romp.

It's most definitely a keeper. Despite my criticisms, I really enjoyed the first one.

I need to finally get around to seeing both The Gate II and the rest of the Halloweens. I've only seen Halloween 1, 2, 3, and H20.

yeah you need to fix that. Halloween 4, 5, 6 are fun enough slashers. I've seen em all many times.

I also have access to Rob Zombie's remake of the original.

I haven't gotten too much into the remakes of older slashers though unfortunately. I've seen the one for Friday the 13th, but not A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Nightmare remake sucksssssss.

The first RZ Halloween is good - it's actually more like 2/3rds a prequel really. I like it.

The 2nd is divisive. I hated it when I saw it in the theater, but when I watched the director's cut later I enjoyed it a lot more. It is... brutal. It's an interesting concept really as it is kind of an exploration of the PSTD that survivors of a slasher movie would experience. It's not for everyone, but the director's cut is the one to see if you're interested.
