took the words out of my mouth.
an extremely under-rated game imo
you could try diablo on the ps1 it was really cool for 2 player games
I've had that game for ages. One of the pricier DC games if my memory is correct. I'll probably never get around to playing it. Too many cool games out there to play

Gahhh! No! If you're going to suggest someone play Diablo, suggest it on the PC. What next, we start suggesting people play the PS2 version of Deus Ex?

What's wrong with the PlayStation version of Diablo? Or the PlayStation 2 version of Deus Ex? I suppose you would also have a problem if someone tried playing Warcraft II: The Dark Saga for the PlayStation. Is there any actual difference between the two versions of these games that definitively makes the PC version better? Or are you just saying I should play the PC version for playing the PC versions sake?

Search around some abandonware sites and get DOSbox and you're good to go. If you don't mind not having very modern graphics, they are some amazing games. There's a whole slew of great dungeon crawlers on the PC, much more so than on consoles.

I don't have a very powerful computer when it comes to gaming. At all.
Well you should be able to run nethack.

I never played Diablo or Deus Ex anywhere besides the PC. I remember being slightly interested in Deus Ex for the PS2, but then I read some stuff about it. Cut content, cut-up stages to reduce loading times, loading times that were still horrible even with the cut content and stages, etc.

There are certain games that just aren't the same on the console as they are on the PC, even if you do have mouse/keyboard for said console. It's just a fact of life. The very manner in which data is loaded and transferred are very different, and that alone can greatly affect gameplay. That's not even taking system architecture, drivers/firmwares that can or can't be upgraded, etc. into the equation. They are just very different animals.

This is why I recommend Record of Lodoss War for DC; it is a Diablo clone, but it was made for the Dreamcast.

Yes, I would have a problem with WC2 on the PSX. All of these games were designed for a mouse and keyboard setup. You would be doing yourself a disservice by playing them with vastly inferior control options. Then there's the aforementioned changes that were made to DX on the PS2 to support the hardware. I admit they did a decent job with what they were working with, but it's still an inferior port. And all those games are old enough that your PC should have no problem playing them (no "my computer isn't good enough" argument that the modern console FPS fans use).
