So apparently Nintendo of America tweeted this morning that Rockstar is developing the next Metroid game for the NX. O.o

So apparently Nintendo of America tweeted this morning that Rockstar is developing the next Metroid game for the NX. O.o

I have no idea what that game will be like, but it's really fucking cool that Nintendo is working with studios like that with some of the franchises they themselves don't really know what to do with anymore. I doubt it'll be space-GTA, but I'm hoping for something more thematic and different like Bully or even Red Dead, if it has to be something in an open world kind of bizzo.

Is that the real Nintendo of America Twitter account? Some people commented saying it was fake. I'm on my lunch break at work, so haven't tried to verify.

Just more trolls out for a stroll, someone kick em back under the bridge. Rockstar I don't think would ever team up with Nintendo on anything. Second to that asshole Mark Rein and his company Epic I can't think of another that has been more visibly despising on Nintendo and wishing them to not just farm their stuff out as a third party crapfest like Sega turned into but actual death(exiting completely) would please them.

True, and they've got some handheld releases too (and Table Tennis ). However, most of their bigger releases haven't been on Nintendo home consoles. I'd say it's more due to hardware needs or customer bases just not lining up than anything else though.

Similar to Epic. Sure, they didn't bring UE4 to the Wii U, but they also didn't bring it to PS3 or 360. It simply targets more advanced hardware. UE3, which focused more on 7th gen level hardware, supported the Wii U just fine, and was used by a number of ports.

Fair enough, but do realize those were 2 ports of old games. They also did their ping pong title. The only new game they ever did for Nintendo far as I know was the cool yet being that it was GBA(and somehow adult enough there?) Grand Theft Auto Advance. They wanted nothing to do with Gamecube and understandably the WiiU, and the Wii just got a few years old scraps. Rockstar seems more interested in doing something decent on Gameboy/Color/Advance which I thought was odd. Anything that would sell into the millions they won't put on Nintendo which is why I put it there.

China Town Wars was genuinely awesome. I loved that game.
