I wish they'd repair how the game sees walking for accumulated distance.

As it is now (or pre update?) it was broken. I'd walk around the block a couple times and the candy wouldn't grow correctly but the egg meter would. I've seen them go up at a different clip which makes no sense. I'm kind of fed up even trying to level up candies anymore on the 5KM stuff as it's a waste if I'm having to walk like 6-7km to get it while I keep popping eggs at the right pace. I can't be the only one who has noticed this.

I will say having the Plus is much better for distance tracking than the app by itself. I'm getting tons of candy for my Ivysaur, it's only 3 away from evolution now.

I had to do a few gym shifts today, but now I have 6, hoping to keep 4-5 for tomorrow.

A pokestop on the road here less than a mile west with the update turned into a gym for whatever reason. I popped something in it earlier. There's no good way to hit it unless you're in the center divide or stopped in traffic. I got coins at least.

You're not the only one who saw a stop turn into a gym. I saw another report of the same thing on Reddit! I also noticed that a few deleted local Pokéstops are back in the game, which is nice.

I thought the same thing about one of the level 10 gyms I got on Saturday, it's a fountain/statue on a grassy median in the middle of the road, you can park at the nearby CVS or Walmart and cross the road to get there. But unfortunately my Pokémon was at the very bottom of that gym, and someone just battled it enough to kick mine out and leave the other 9 in. They did that to a few other gyms down the street, including the library where my Pokémon is 5th in the rotation, but I checked it today and it's back to Level 10.

As of right now I'm in 5 gyms.

Flareon way out west, Level 7 gym, over a month now!
One of the two gyms at a nearby park, Level 5, 3rd in rotation (Arcanine)
The temple down the street from there, Level 7, 3rd in rotation (Snorlax)
Out at the beach, Level 10, 5th in rotation (Vaporeon #2)
Library, Level 10, 5th in rotation (Exeggutor #1 at 1977CP)

My Lapras is still at the local library, but the library is now level 9. Has been for about 3 days now. I miss Balloon (as I have named him), but he's giving me some steady income.

Well I had this egg pop earlier today, got a nearly 700cp slowpoke out of it which made me happy as it's amazing and all that unlike the decent(C at best rated) meh one I found in the wild a week back so I swapped that out. :D

Also noticing my pokedex is going up over that update plugging in gym bait into the system.

By the way I found out today my wife was reading online of a secondary version of pokemon go on the apple store. It allows you to pop your character over to another set of gps coordinates. What you do is never click on a gym or pokestop, but click on a fight, then in the fight screen tap 'home' to send it back to your coordinates then battle/capture. Supposedly it's undetectable from the servers, but I think with a tweak they could catch people over it but she wasnt phased. She got the coordinates for pier 39 in san francisco which has like 5 stops on it all usually with bait going and she was magikarp harvesting for a gyrados. I'm tempted, but I'm not going to bother.

I did a lot of running around this week.

On Tuesday I had to get up early in order to hit the semi annual book sale the library puts on. Since I was going to be up early anyway, I got up extra early and headed downtown. Everything I could see was red, so I expected there to be a struggle.

First I ran down to the Trail Gym and kicked out team Instinct. Then I jogged back and booted out a lone Valor player out of the Memorial Gym. Then I headed back towards the car and noticed some nice person from Mystic had taken over one of the two gyms over there. So I dropped off one of my guys and headed over to the church, which proved to be stubborn. But, I succeeded and knocked the rest of the Valor players out of there, netting me 50 coins for the day.

They were slowly kicked out throughout the day. Even the one in the Trail Gym. Bummer.

Today, I got up extra early and hit a couple new spots: the City Park Gym and the State Park Gym. They've been consistently blue for over a week. They were also Lvl 7's, so I spent quite a bit of time building them up. The Park gym is easy to get to. The State Park gym, however, takes a bit more effort, so that's the one I'm hoping will stick around for a couple days.

After that, I made my usual rounds downtown. I only spared the one church gym since I was running out of potions. So instead of the 70 coins I was hoping for, I settled for 60.

Eggexcellent is somewhere in the middle of his gym and Waterproof is second from the top. Fluffball, ever the good guard dog, remains at the far off Church gym. I forget what place he's in

After all that, I had a lot lower inventory than I usually do, so I spent quite a while walking and restocking. As of right now, three of my guys are still holding the gyms, so hopefully I'll get to pick up some coins tomorrow morning :)

Another great report Michi. I can respect a good, honest Mystic player. However I'm sick of Instinct and the same 3-5 people taking the flagpole gym though. They're serious about it now, 3 Pokémon 2100 and up in there.

The best news of the day was not only the 50 bonus I got today thanks to my training efforts yesterday, but I got my 4th Snorlax from a 10km egg, and it's the best at 15/14/15 with Zen Headbutt/Body Slam, excellent for defense, and 1771CP! At near 200HP it will be a strong HP wall and should last well in a high-level gym. It also came with a ton of candy, so it will be powered up.

I'd be staying away from those GPS spoofers myself. Too shady/risky at this point and I'm seeing the results of account banhammers by Niantic on Reddit for people using those things.

Was going to be just a ball hunt day today, refilled and got a few basics, was going to be a wash out really, no gyms either. I've got heaps of ball supplies for later 81, 62, and 36 respectively by model.

We pull up from the mall and BOOM, Snorlax pops up on the radar that wasn't there a moment earlier. Wife hands me her phone, I got walking. I ended up going down the block, nothing, around to the next street and most the way down, vanishes! I double back, reappears having been walk/jogging all this, and yet another block down at the corner house it appears in the yard (YES!)

More yes... it's CP????

2 ultraballs and a berry later (and on her being 1lv under me 6-8 ultra balls and 3 berries later) CP 1779 HP 209 (I have since candied it +1 to 1829 212 HP)

It has LICK & HYPERBEAM -- Decent pokemon, HP strongest, blown away WOW! (also small and cute.) May not be perfect and my other weaker one is amazing, but I'll take that. My vaporeon is 1701 so that's a nice boost.

My old snorlax I've had months now is 1139 Lick+Earthquake with 159HP but it is amazing with best attack with a WOW on it and is even smaller as it's unnoticeably tiny.

I'm keeping both. I've never seen a snoralx that powerful before in a gym and it still has 5-10% of the arc left (3K dust cost) so it probably at my lv23 cap out upwards of 1950+CP if I bothered. I'm curious if my other one will go there as its arc is back at like 60%.

Nice catch bro, I found out that CP ???? means that it's extraordinarily high, higher than any that you currently have in your collection, so that was a special Snorlax. It really doesn't matter on moveset, because they're HP walls, but Hyper Beam is far better on offense because it's easy to dodge on defense. Any Snorlax belongs in a gym. I've seen them in gyms as high as 2200CP so far.

Today I lost a park gym after 2 days, not bad for high traffic. I still have the other 4 gyms.
