yeah, i grew up with one so im dying to replace it one day, but the other thing to note is that even with a mega everdrive on the genesis, you can't play SG-1000 games & i'd love to explore that library!Gunstar Green wrote:I imagine it's the same as the appeal of playing on an original toaster NES which is a completely idiotic design. I didn't grow up with a Master System so for me playing it on the original hardware wasn't a priority for me. I use a Genesis and a PBC.

You'll get the pleasure of playing fine games such as Dragon Wang. Yes, there's really a game called Dragon Wang.IrishNinja wrote:yeah, i grew up with one so im dying to replace it one day, but the other thing to note is that even with a mega everdrive on the genesis, you can't play SG-1000 games & i'd love to explore that library!Gunstar Green wrote:I imagine it's the same as the appeal of playing on an original toaster NES which is a completely idiotic design. Seriously though, SG-100 games are somewhere on par with the Atari 7800. I played a bunch via emulation in a single day, and I haven't gone back again. Sega Galaga is cool I guess because I love both Galaga and Sega, but it's still an inferior port compared to the NES version or the 7800 version. Kongo Bongo is kind of a cool Donkey Kong clone with its own style and flavor. Flipper is a terrible Pinball game from back in the days before anyone knew how to make a good video pinball game. Flicky is Flicky; the SMS version is better. Orguss is a horizontal shmoot 'em up. Safari race is a pole position clone, but not bad. I couldn't figure out Golgo13. It think it's kind of like Frogger with shooting, but I couldn't quite figure out what the objective is. Sega Ninja is actually pretty fun.

Re: The Master System Appreciation Thread
So I read thru this entire thread. And there is a lot of love for the master system.
I remember as a kid getting one don't know where or how I got it and used the Nes adapter playing shinobi and the thing burnt out on thanksgiving day. I was bummed. Spent 80.00 to send it out to sega to only get a new system.
Another time getting it was a girl at funcoland who worked there gave me her collection for some money for dreamcast games. I had like 50 games all complete and power strike was one of them. Sold it at a flea market like a year later.
I love the little red carts. And the slick black console is a good looking system. Goes up there with the 7800 model

Heard good stuff about Choplifter & Rescue Mission too, but never played them myself.
Re: The Master System Appreciation Thread
I have they're solid. I sold my stuff off for the last time a couple years back but the system is amazing. I could see a future power base or ever drive GG to do it.
Re: The Master System Appreciation Thread
I ended up getting a couple more titles
Altered beast
Lord of the sword
Rampage
Vigilante
Kung fu kid
Walter Payton football
Rastan
Damn I think I'm off to a very good start on the master system. Got plenty to play for a while. I would love to get rtype back and a couple of others but I think I'm fine for now

Ok now should we this time restrain him with rope, duct tape, or resort to a nail gun?
