I am also convinced that half of Trump's supporters online are not real. Palmer Luckey, the kid who got rich by developing the Oculus Rift and selling it to Facebook, has been using his millions to fund "shit posters" that slam Hillary Clinton and promote Donald.
Russia has buildings full of people hired to be internet trolls. The whole purpose of these professional trolls is to steer political discourse and to make it seem like most people agree with Putin. It's a basic psychological phenomenon that people find it more difficult to oppose something when they believe the majority of people are on the opposing side. We know that Palumer Luckey's organization is doing this sort of thing for Trump now, and given Putin's interest in Trump becoming the next US president, I wouldn't be surprised if he has trolls for Trump too. It is getting increasingly difficult to tell what is real and what is fake online anymore, and that is affecting what people think and do in real life.

A thought that is both comforting and disturbing at the same time.J T wrote:I am also convinced that half of Trump's supporters online are not real.

Almost all the people I know supporting Trump do so because they think he's slightly less bad than Hillary. I also have friends that are full-on conservative, and will not vote for either candidate.
I do know a few that are full-on supporters, and they've known he was a moral reprobate well before all the rest of this stuff hit. In many ways, they've bought into what those on my side have been told for years, that we need to separate our personal morals from our politics, much like many Democrats were able to do with Pres. Clinton.

Bold ass prediction. Ken Bone will receive more votes than Gary Johnson.

I've actually seen a lot of very obvious automated trolling on my Facebook feed, both from lefties and righties. It's pretty obvious when you get different people posting stuff, and it has the exact same wording between "personal" posts. It's hard to get a feel for what's legit and what's not. So much of it is meant to create ideological momentum, this idea that everyone is thinking like this, creating a bandwagon effect.

Re: So the whole world is kind of falling apart...
I started to do some digging around on my facebook and am finding some crazy things. There are 4 very outspoken Trump supporters on my facebook. I added them through a mass add amidst a social game that was for The Secret World way back in the day. These supporters have been radio silent until roughly 5 months ago. I looked up their activity and they had not posted a thing since 2013... all of them and what they posted then is not in any way indicative of what I am seeing now.Sarge wrote:I've actually seen a lot of very obvious automated trolling on my Facebook feed, both from lefties and righties. These guys all claim to be veterans who have lived in urban areas like Detroit, Chicago and New York City and share wonderful links like, "WATCH BILL CLINTON RAPE A 13 YEAR OLD IN THIS SHOCKING VIDEO!" and, "Hear Hillary call this woman a cunt before stabbing her in the stomach! REAL LIVE FOOTAGE!" They also argue with me a lot and I always research their claims, not find anything and then politely ask them to help me find where they heard it to no response.
One guy just posted up a message to say he used to drive around Detroit looking to beat black people up, only to find a gay white guy who he knocked unconcious. He linked to the song he was listening to when it happened. They are clearly trolling, although I doubt the conspiracy that they are being paid to do it. They are clearly just doing it for the attention.

I feel anyone who does not vote is not making a statement at all. I don't care too much for either candidate and certainly do not want the same routine for another four years. My vote is for Trump even with his "Locker Room" talk. Not saying what he said was right, but then it was unofficial guy talk that we sometimes slip out. Say, why no static on the celebrity Billy Bush?! Trump was talking undercuff on that bus, but Bush had the loud laughter!Sarge wrote:Almost all the people I know supporting Trump do so because they think he's slightly less bad than Hillary. I'll take a headstrong business man who states we should have taken the oil in Iraq to prevent what has happened now over the failed policies these last few years.

NBC suspended Billy Bush a few days ago, actually...CRTGAMER wrote:Say, why no static on the celebrity Billy Bush?! Trump was talking undercuff on that bus, but Bush had the loud laughter!
Why do people keep saying this as if it's an excuse for the behavior?CRTGAMER wrote: it was unofficial guy talk that we sometimes slip out.

How many prominent athletes and coaches are specifically coming out and saying it's not something that happens in locker rooms again?
I'm also not sure how you'd take the oil out of Iraq. There's sort of a geological thing where there's a shitton under it.
