This is how Hillary Clinton will win the election.

A version of this has been my personal pet conspiracy theory since last year, but I really think that the past week - the Trump clips and then Trump trotting out Bill's accusers and the like - have put the damper on that one a bit.

I just can't imagine a scenario where the whole thing was a rigged agreement between Trump and Clinton where those kind of personal attack tactics would have been an allowable move since, especially in Trump's case, there's a lot of long-term post-election "brand" harm potentially caused by being linked to media attention around sexual assault.

It could've been agreed to up to a certain extent, then the agreement falls apart once one of the two doesn't pull a punch and ends up dragging one through the mud beyond what was agreed to. Honestly, it makes me feel as if I'm watching the 5th season of House of Cards play out right before me.

I am not really complaining that we haven't had some lively debates given how polarizing the candidates seem to be, but still a little surprised nonetheless.

I don't think that the two are equally polarizing. With one, we can argue (and have argued) about some of the finer points of information and national security law. With the other...well...there just isn't much to say...

You are right, Trump is the clear winner as being seen as more unfavorable in scientific polling - but Clinton isn't doing a whole lot better.

Yeah, this election cycle has been depressing. I caught all but the first fifteen minutes of the debate, and while it wasn't the train wreck of the first one, it was still a dumpster fire.

They're both awful, just in different ways. I have to decide which set of awful I can deal with. I'm not entirely sure how we came to these two, but it's awfully depressing. I would have much rather seen a Cruz-Sanders matchup, myself.
