Pokémon Go
Re: Pokémon Go
Ran into a 40 cp Weedle today with a bright yellow ring that soaked up 5 pokeballs before submitting. Now I remember why I habitually avoid Weedles. Useless little punks...
Re: Pokémon Go
I caught a Gloom just the other day also with Petal Blizzard and similar stats. Keeping it wouldn't hurt for low-level training, especially when the new features and defense balancing debut. I'd keep it.Tanooki wrote:I don't have much to add to yesterday other than at the grocery store today my phone buzzed in my pocket and it was a vensaur in the meat department (irony in there somewhere!) It was a joke...CP in the lower 300s, still a red ring, took a few balls. I figured just for the pokedex entry. I looked it's 325CP, Razor Leaf+Petal Blizzard with 49HP. The arc is I'd think maybe 40% filled (boost=600 dust+1 ball)... it's decent, hp best, stats say get done in battle (and it's tiny.) I know it's garbage. Not sure if I'll erase it or not. Any suggestions?

Re: Pokémon Go
Hmm maybe so. I wonder how terrible it would be to max it out and see how far it could go dumping dust into it.
I have a really decent ivysaur already. CP902, HP 78, Vine Whip + Solar Beam.
Strong, attack best, got excellent stats, also gigantic. At 43/100 candies on it.

Re: Pokémon Go
Some time between 12 and 4am last night, somebody went through town and kicked two of my guys out of their Gyms, leaving only Fluffball left to defend the far away church. I guess some people just don't sleep
Went back today and, after a week of blue gyms (at least that's what it looked like before Pokestumble went kapoot), found that Valor must have rallied because everything was red. So I went through town, kicked everybody out, leveled up and got my 50 coins that I was denied on Friday.
Three of them have already been sent back (It's a high traffic area, I figured as much), but I've still got the two defenders left at the Trail Gym and the Church. Here's hoping no one goes on another midnight stroll for a couple days

Re: Pokémon Go
I had a day like you did yesterday, except I didn't have to kick people out of gyms
But in that first picture, a Rhydon as gym leader? BAD MOVE when water types beat rock well!
That Arcanine did very well for its first gym defense at nearly 17 hours before I got it back. I found out today that it's around 97% perfect! 14/15/15! Only a Dodrio I have matches that.
I'm now at 5 gyms including all 3 at level 10, so hoping for 50 a day! At this point, I'm unsure of which one might get back to me first!

Re: Pokémon Go
Yes, I'm quoting myself. I lost 2 gyms today. I drove back over to them to find out who or what was behind the reasoning for that (THANKS NIANTIC for no more gym intelligence) and I found out the following:ExedExes wrote:I'm now at 5 gyms including all 3 at level 10, so hoping for 50 a day! 1) The first one was the level 10 gym with my Slowbro at the bottom. Someone knocked 3000 prestige off it and left. It was still Valor's. Seeing as how I couldn't train it up again nor did I have any available Pokémon over 1900CP, I had to give it up.
2) The second one was the level 9 gym I was in for just over a week. It was back up to 52k (Level 10) and it turns out 2 Pokémon including the Vaporeon I had in there were lost, but it's still Valors. I'm thinking the same "griefers' did the same to that gym.
Bonus note 3) The level 10 library gym is now at level 9, down from 52k to 46,700. As my Pokémon was 5th in that gym, it got knocked down to 4th. The Griefer World Tour continued, with the gym still belonging to us.
So now I'm still at 3.

Re: Pokémon Go
More news about the new update after some testing here. It looks like a decent update across the board, plus some nice fixes for the Go Plus device that I was encountering. Gyms also load quicker.

Re: Pokémon Go
The new version arrived on my phone today. I'll say this is one of the best updates the game ever got.
- Medals are easier to see and you will get all the retroactive catch bonuses for all the progress you already made
- Gyms are faster to load and far more stable in battle
- Pokemon Go Plus connectivity is far better, no more connection drops when entering a gym or catching a Pokémon manually, now it also gives you the option to turn Pokémon or Pokéstop notifications on or off
- Training is FAR easier. This is the point I want to elaborate on quickly.
I took out the Instincts at the flagpole gym then went down the road to a few gyms that I knew belonged to Mystic. The first one I saw was Valor, and I saw that a local group of Valor members I see in gyms around here all the time that I call The Scourge Group took that one, I call them that because of their three usernames Scourge9, Scourge11 and Scourge12. I used the new training feature to go through the entire gym and pick up 1600 prestige very quickly. I then added a Pokémon to the gym.
The next gym I went to was Mystic as I drove past it the first time, but then it was Valor's! The Scourge group took that one too. I trained in that one again, and added another Pokémon.
The final stop was the familiar church which previously had 3 Snorlax at it, and guess who took it again for Valor? The Scourges! So again, I easily trained and added ANOTHER Pokémon in!
This is how the new training works, before and after.
Flareon in this example is the leader at 2189CP:
But when I come to train and it rolls out the suggested lineup, the CP is lowered.
Through this I can get 1500-1600CP by taking on three and using only 2 Pokémon! This save time and items!
So this is my current lineup with 7 Pokémon assigned, 4 of which I'll probably lose tonight, these are all high traffic gyms.

Re: Pokémon Go
Just grabbed the update, can't wait to check it out. I had been otu a bit earlier for a few things, ended up sorta lucky. I got a wild squirtle of all things that beat the EGG one I had that I made into a wartortle. The egg one was dumb, the catch is amazing and wow on HP.
Found a few more random average ones of better shape for stuff I need candy on for evolution like koffing, oddish, blue nidoran, and after weeks a meowth.
I decided not to keep candy baiting my annoying 5k stuff, switched to 3k and ponyta. I have like 7 things 50-60% candy wise into being raised so I'm going to clean that out first then go for the slow grind.

Re: Pokémon Go
Koffing, that's one I still need.
As I predicted, I lost 3 of those 4 gyms I got today. Maybe the Arcanine will last till the morning.
There are some better egg tracking fixes in the new update too. The decimal points have been taken off the 2.0/5.0/10.0 side but the distance will still have the decimal point.
