I didn't even know there WAS a complete edition of L.A. Noire :O !

Also, in terms of 360 exclusives (kind of), I picked up a copy of Beautiful Katamari the other day, and it's SO fun! I mean, to be honest, it looks like a PS2 game, it plays exactly like the PS2 game, but I attribute that to its play-style and art-style mostly. The framerate is sooooo good though (because of the graphics, I assume). And new maps and a great framerate are all I really could've hoped for, really!

Kind of wanna pick up Katamari Forever at some point now, because that's the one console one I don't have.

So I finally logged onto Xbox Live for the first time. Picked up Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, Guardian Heroes, and Guwange. Want to get DeathSmiles II eventually.

Any other retro stuff on there that's hard to find anywhere else?

This seems like another good time to a plug in. Check out my guide that specializes in 360 re-releases located here: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 52&t=44588

So was Crackdown 2 any good? I really enjoyed the first. I kind of hate open world sandbox stuff by this point, but I bet it's dirt cheap and I'd be willing to check it out sometime if it's good. I think I recall it having weirder monster types that looked like a turn off compared to the first game though. No idea...

The main complaint with Crackdown 2 that I've heard is that it's far too similar to the first game. I guess it may be a bit like Saints Row IV compared to 3 (I've never played either Crackdown, so I can't say for sure). Also, Crackdown 2 is still like 10 bucks! The first one is like 2 though, so I has dat one. When I do get to it, I've been told to make sure to up my explosives skill, because it has a big pay-off.

Crackdown did the insane powers/physics before Saints Row, so at the time it was pretty cool to play something in a city sandbox that was a bit more ridiculous and over the top. I thought the orb collecting was pretty addicting too. Orbs sprinkled throughout the city that were like your exp basically I think... some of them you had to "chase" and race to get them, think those boosted your speed. Compared to something like Assassin's Creed or Infamous, it was a bit more basic with a really straightforward main quest and missions, but the simplicity was something I liked about it.

I figured Crackdown 2 might be around that price point. I really can't complain about any game around $10 haha. I'll have to check it out.

Had to search the forums again to locate this thread. lol

What is the best Forza game on the 360? For whatever reason this series intrigues me and have always heard good things. I'm not really versed in Gran Turisma to compare it to though, or sim racers in general. I've heard the Forza series is kind of split in two, with some installments being track based, and then some others (along with the newest game) being open world. Which, might be cool? I'm not sure. My favorite part about GTA5 was the driving ... lol.

If there's a particular game or side of the franchise that feels like San Francisco Rush, that's the one I want to play.

I have always had this strange craving to play some good racers again, but yeah. No idea where to start.

The numbered Forza titles are the Gran Turismo style track-centric entries. The Horizon games are the open world offshoot, and likely what you'd want to check out.

Good to know. Maybe I'll just grab the two newest ones on the 360. They all seem to be rated pretty highly?

From what I've played of it, the Forza series in general is high quality in general, so you can't really go wrong per se.

That said, Horizon 2 was also released on the Xbox One, and a number of the touted improvements and features are only on that version. I wouldn't really call it a deliberate snub. More or less, Forza Horizon was built on the Forza 4 core, albeit simplified in some ways. Those games were already pushing the limits of the hardware though. Meanwhile, Forza 5 was a launch title for the Xbox One, and added to the base capabilities of the engine (though actual car/track content was fairly sparse without DLC). For Horizon 2, the primary developers built the Xbox One version on the new and improved Forza 5 guts...and spun the 360 version off to a separate developer to build on top of the old Horizon core.

Not that it's a bad game as a result. Just something to keep in mind...and really, a lot of the stuff you don't get may not be things you care much about (except the more limited places you can drive).

It still might be more sim-oriented than you want though. If you haven't played Burnout Paradise that might be more what you're looking for, with basically driving around the city picking up challenges. Or there are more arcade style racers in Blur and Split/Second that might be of interest.
