Beyond what exactly? It's the same plot, more or less, like the first two rebooted Treks. A one-man revenge, Spock wants to leave, Scotty faffing about, total lack of imagination in the scifi category. Meh.

So The Magnificent Seven is all kinds of awesome. Vincent D'Onofrio is a shockingly talented actor. Many actors end up being similar in their roles; he can play anything and each one is different.

I agree. I also enjoyed him in his recent portrayal of the Kingpin.MrPopo wrote:So The Magnificent Seven is all kinds of awesome. Vincent D'Onofrio is a shockingly talented actor. Many actors end up being similar in their roles; he can play anything and each one is different.

That one episode of Daredevil season 2, and Fisk steals the entire season.
Speaking of Netflix Marvel, Luke Cage is really fun so far.

I hadn't seen this cult classic until now. Like many cult films, this is a movie that manages to suck and be awesome at the same time. Things happen more for the sake of looking cool than for making tons of sense. The acting is pretty bad but the characters are somehow still memorable though, which must be why Hideo Kojima aped so much of Escape from NY for his Metal Gear series. Seriously, Kurt Russell and John Carpenter could sue. It was funny to watch this in 2016 when in the movie 1988 and 1997 were the times in the future.

Watch Escape from LA with some buds. It's a blast. Surfs up.
The best part is how it was made in 1996 or something and feels 120% like it came from the 80's.

Magnificent Seven- good stuff. Going to be honest, I was a bit scared it would be too comedic, but the seriousness of the movie was just the right amount, IMO. I'm hoping stuff like this might lead to a revival of Westerns.
Zootopia- Good overall. Didn't blow my mind or anything, but well done for what it was. I was a bit wary of it seeing how many things I had read about it connecting it to the furry scene, but the movie wasn't any worse than anything else with anthropomorphic animals on that front. Also the first animated movie I've seen with kids around in a long, long time.
