You might just want to see if any of the good ones you already own will work. At this point, nearly all of the home console controllers are using Bluetooth - Wiimotes (enabling things you can plug into them), Wii U Pro Controller, Dual Shock 3 & 4, and the new Xbox One controller to boot. May require a third party app to connect them or something though.

I don't usually do much gaming on Android either, but I've used a knockoff Wiimote with a Classic Controller plugged into it before for emulation on a Nexus 7.

I've done that on my tablet, but the problem is that if you update your firmware to anything resembling current, Wii remotes stop working. They've changed the Bluetooth stack to make things not work properly.

Plus, I'd want something at least somewhat portable. I was not impressed by Moga's controller offerings, I've tried a Pro and the little small one they have, and both of them have awful d-pads.

Still no NX news....?

Just googled it for the latest news and apparently:

- The reveal will be "next week" (it's Sunday now, does that mean this week coming or the week after?)

- The price is going to be "disappointing" (well, if it really is a handheld/home console hybrid, with specs on a par with current gen, then it won't be cheap, will it?)

- VR is a possibility

- There are still many "secrets" to be revealed

- About 20 games are in development

- "The Xbox Scorpio and PS4 Pro will destroy it" (can always rely on tabloid media for positive articles on Nintendo)

The PS4 and Xbone currents already piss all over the power they have by trying to make games look too good so they have shit framerates and run poorly. If the NX has games that actually have consistantly above 30 fps and have good launches, then that'll be about as good as we can hope for.

The biggest problem the NX has to overcome is the exact same one the PS4 Pro an Scorpio do: Getting people to buy it when they already own a PS4 or Xbone.

I imagine the whole handheld/console concept is how they intend to do that, by trying to supplant the 3DS and infiltrate the TV space by the back door.

Yeah with it being a docked handheld for console, they're taking the nvidia shield tablet and console model and mooshing it into one like Neo-Geo X. They're giving the bird for the in the back pocket childish gaming media and Sony and MS for trying to shiv each other with bloated boxes that ask too much and sputter on output they're still having trouble pushing into the masses years later this go around. Nintendo is weaseling into fairly new pioneering territory with a microconsole that also is a handheld all under a unified format with 1 form of media to jack into it too. If that can't sell they're boned and MS and Sony for that fact too because if they keep having issues peddling their own titles other than to the hardware while the third parties put more and more of their nice stuff on PC there's just no reason to bother.

I have to admit I'm fed up with the gaming media and have been for awhile. While I no longer am a fan of Nintendo console side, and I won't defend them without due cause I'm just over it. It being how they can't and won't get a fair shake in the media anymore unless it's Nintendo centric sites then they get shit on anyway for being on their side. It's a gamer nerdy version of the shitty leftist media in the US who lie, cheat, and cover up shit the democratic politicians do, and throw the right under the bus -- except for Fox, so then Fox gets seen as a shill. Yet that shill has the best ratings around, why? People people want to hear something different which isn't just ignoring facts and blowing a political party (though if you flip on tha tmoron Hannity in the opinion hour you get that too.) Nintendo is in that spot now, they're the ones who want play along and fall into line so they get shat upon and mocked, stories made up, moderators(media editors) making up garbage or throwing softballs for the beasts in the room.

Pretty easy on your second point there, like I always say, people can knock on Nintendo's lack of third party support and all that... but their first party lineup basically doubles/triples Sony and MS's combined! That said, you'd probably want to be a fan of their franchises... but several generations in I think everyone should know what to expect when it comes to Nintendo and what they're getting into.

A lot of U games are 60 FPS I believe. They just opt for awesome art styles that go a lot farther than graphical density in some cases. Some of the best looking games I've played this gen are some U games for sure.

If you ask me, it's the reverse and it's Sony and MS that are in the awkward position here. Since just about everything you get on those consoles are available on PC. PS4/X1 is like playing stuff on Low or Medium settings by this point and you kind of have to accept that you might not be getting the best version if you go with consoles. But Nintendo never has these problems.

So apparently Nintendo of America tweeted this morning that Rockstar is developing the next Metroid game for the NX. O.o

I have no idea what that game will be like, but it's really fucking cool that Nintendo is working with studios like that with some of the franchises they themselves don't really know what to do with anymore. I doubt it'll be space-GTA, but I'm hoping for something more thematic and different like Bully or even Red Dead, if it has to be something in an open world kind of bizzo.
