I was raised on Macs because its what my dad would bring home from work, so when I first saw Wolf3d at my friends house my mind was blown. My first PC was a pentium 133, and I immediately sought out the doom shareware i remember getting at the checkout at compusa for 1.99. Ahhhh the good ol' days when a company would give away 1/3 of their game for free. I also remember play a whole crapload of Duke3d and blood. Good Times!

As a side note, does anyone remember a game for the mac called "Dark Castle" which was followed up by "Return to Dark Castle"? I recently discovered these games all over again running on a Mac emulator running system 6. They were really ahead of their time.

Metroid Prime

Post by alexkidd »

I'm 28 years old but Metroid Prime was the first one that I didn't absolutely hate. Not sure why but FPS just aren't for me. I did really enjoy Metroid Prime, but it never really became the "gateway drug" to get me into them, even though my best friend spends every second of his free time playing them. Maybe it's because I'm a Mac user.

My first FPS was Wolfenstein 3D, followed closely by Marathon.

Either Zero Tolerance for Genesis or Doom for PC. I can't remember which I played first. Most likely Zero Tolerance.
