Anybody else excited about The Watchmen?

Mozgus got a good enough representation of the comic to be able to contrast it and the movie. Giving him the book and telling him to look at every panel for ten seconds more than he did watching the motion comic will not change his opinion on it, nor will it justify your attempts to make him think like you.

What really proves your opinion is completely off the wall is that you claim watchmen to be the best comic adaptation of a film, but had no rebuttle to Sin City, a movie that was worked on by the original creator, and stayed so close to the source material they used the graphic novel as story boards. Then you go on to bash graphic novels as a medium of art, further showing you have no real appreciation for it as an art form. If watchmen is so mediocre (which is fucking bullshit, this comic was lauded by the industry, and brought a revolution in the way comic storys are told, paving the way for more adult themed stories in comics)why don't you enlighten us with your opinion on what a good graphic novel is? What would you consider one that is genre defining? Maybe a particular artist you think is so much more talented than Dave Gibbons? The fact of the matter is you probably cant, you were just spewing your own fanboy biased opinion, and telling everyone else they were wrong and you were right.

I didn't notice you saying anything about Sin City, but now that I do, I'll say I found that pretty average as well. I figured a lot of changes had been made in the movie, but if you say its some frame by frame copy paste job, I guess that's not giving the comic a lot of credit, since I wasn't very blown away by the story. It was a decent movie, worth seeing once. I really don't have anything more to say about it than that. If it is somehow more authentic of an adaptation than Watchmen, then good for you. Watchmen is the 2nd most authentic adaptation. How does that annihilate all my arguments?

Before you go acusing other people of being a looser or a fanboy, why dont you sit down and take a good hard look at what you do for your free time, making sure people behave themselves on a video game forum. You maybe viewed 10-15 seconds of each panel watching that stupid ass animated comic. Don't try and tell me you got the full experience of being able to take in all the art and combine it with the dialogue to get a better understanding of the story. You took it at a very face value level, its as simple as that. its like watching some one playing a videogame and having them narrate the story for you, and then judging it saying '' this game is so mediocre''. You didn't experience the game the way the creators intended simple as that.

You see all this? Is it really hard to imagine yourself snapping at any futures girlfriends/wives over some pointless nerd debate? I could totally see you throwing some punches right now. I expect you to have a long line of divorces and lawsuits.

Just about everything in that post wasn't important except for the sentence above. The above is the correct conclusion, so move on and forget about this thread. I have no experience about Watchmen, so I can't stand here and say, "I know what you mean, and I agree," when talking about the movie/comic. But I can tell you that it is a good idea to just walk away and let him have whatever satisfaction he gets from situations like these.

Excellent response! you did a great job defending yourself by making personal attacks on me rather than defend against what I said (Besides refering to replicating frank millers art style to film as a "copy paste job" ). Having a comic read to you while panels whiz by you on the screen is not reading it. Its as fucking simple as that, it just like watching the godfather on your fucking iphone, you may think you watched it but theres no way you can appreciate that movie fully on a 3 inch screen. All you do is make absurd statements about things you obviously know little about, and then when some one tells you you are full of shit (you are) you go on a rampage making personal attacks. I haven't read the watchmen comic and probably never will. I've tried reading comics but can't really get into them. I couldn't give a shit whether the movie follows the story of the comic or if alan moore is crapping his pants. The movie looks great and I can't wait to see it. The movie doesn't make the comic cease to exist so if you don't like it don't watch it again. Just like willy wonka. . . .

I have to say that I watched the Watchmen Motion Comic DVD today, and as a fan of the original work I have to say that I liked the digital comic more than the movie.
