FinalFantasyXIILike...
In the game Final Fantasy XII you control a group of three people. Every tiny, minute and insignificant action can be directly ordered by you to your party members allowing for very strategic gameplay and an over all fun experience. There is a down side to this however. And that's the fact that FFXII is the only game (RPG, specifically) in all of history that I can name where this much minute, strategic, control is given to you over the members of your party. It is honestly very sad.

I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

Uhhh... for most old time FF gamers, the system in FF12 was that all the stuff you used to manually have to do (cast buffs, heal, revive) would be automatically done instead, once you figured out the proper gambits. I'm not certain what you're seeing in 12 that isn't in other mainstream RPGs.

Tales of Symphonia did it first. Maybe not as deep as FF12 but it still did it
Re: FinalFantasyXIILike...
1) Symphonia's battle system has practically nothing in common with FFXII's.Peffico wrote:Tales of Symphonia did it first. Maybe not as deep as FF12 but it still did it
2) Tales is a long running series. Symphonia wasn't the first. The realtime battles were the main attraction of the series ever since it got it's start on SNES.
