Humble has s'more RE sales right now...

RE0 - $12
Resident Evil - $11
Revelations - $7
Revelations Complete - $10
Revelations 2 - $15
RE5 - $7
RE5 Gold - $8.50
RE5 Untold Stories - $10
RE6 - $7.50
RE6 Complete - $8.50
Umbrella Corps - $20
Umbrella Corps Deluxe - $27

...I hate to admit that I've been hoping for an Umbrella Corps sale so I could see how bad it was for myself. $20 is kind of a sweet spot for such a thing.

EDIT: Also... deep thoughts... I never played The Evil Within. But I was always interested because of Mikami. And y'know, it's called The Evil Within. Like, isn't that really close to saying "The evil that lives here"? Like, another way to say Resident Evil? I mean, is that just the connection I always wanted to see, or was it always a really obvious title nod on purpose?

Anyway, was it anything like RE? Do they feel like sister games?

(It's $10 on Humble right now, or $15 w/ DLC)

It's a lot like RE4 just with a story that is alot more bat shit crazy. Beginning was a little slow and the story didn't really make enough sense for me to want to keep playing after I sunk around 2-3 hours into it so I moved on to other stuff.

so it's pretty action-heavy then? I was kind of hoping it was more a throwback to earlier RE games.

If you like Mikami you should like it. Nuff' said. It's awesome. Missing out Fragems, since the story gets increasingly weirder and really cool by the end of it.

The bane of my existence in RE1... SQUARE CRANK. I hate this damn item.

I just got the battery and got past the waterfall... so basically the mansion is completely cleared. Safe to say I'll finally be finishing Chris' campaign for once. I have yet to die once actually, wonder if there's a trophy for that. There's ironically one for dying, haha.

The Evil Within was a lot like Resident Evil 4 if RE4 had been a steaming pile of shit with a completely bullshit story and absolutely nothing scary about it whatsoever AND if the pacing had been worse than Halo 4.

(If you couldn't tell, I am NOT a fan of The Evil Within. At all. I hate it as much as I hate RE5)

A funny thing with these Capcom remasters, is that the in-game graphics look better than the prerendred CGI cutscenes, since those don't change at all.

Who would have thought... cutscenes, from better to worse.

I see similar comments about the RE4-RE6 remasters and such.

I'm sure I will. The divisive reactions are definitely interesting.

You may love it - I have friends and students who thoroughly enjoyed it - but I, personally, think it's a steaming pile of shit without a single redeeming quality. :P

One thing that bugged the shit out of me was the segment at the beginning where you are forced to limp for what felt like an hour just to make the chases more tense  . The pretty much forced stealth in some areas wasn't my game either.
