Glad you you guys had some better egg hatches this week than I did. Got one Staryu today, which wasn't bad (The candies are appreciated.) But my 10K egg today turned out to be....Eevee. *sigh* And not even a decent Eevee, either. It was a rather middling one. I was disappointed :(

But I did add two new catches to my roster today:

Tentacool
Beedrill

Now I could have evolved a Beedrill ages ago, but I figure catching him is better. That way I can save the Weedle candies for another mass evolution later. Also really happy to finally have a Tentacool. Yet another silhouette that has been haunting me for weeks.

My 10k and 2 2k that popped today were a waste. A mid level 500 'decent' Eevee and then a shitty zubat and weedle of all things. CANDY bait on the first two, the eevee I'll at least bother to evolve maybe it'll turn out less repulsive on numbers alone.

My strongest Vaporeon, which I've been powering-up to keep roughly even with my level, started out as an egg Eevee, so I can only complain so much about that.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! That is my worst nightmare, expecting something good like a Lapras, Dratini (jealous!) Electabuzz or an Aerodactyl and then getting an EEVEE out of a 10km egg! I got a new 10km egg and I want something GOOD! But if you're over level 20, all eggs will give you decent stats. This Onix rocks (literally) and I'm glad I avoided the Eevee trap!

Beedrills are all right. I caught a few in the wild, true to their name they're aggressive and difficult to catch, but I kept a Kakuna that had a good appraisal and evolved it this week and it's got the best moveset, Bug Bite/Sludge Bomb, both of those attacks benefit from the Bug/Poison STAB and it's CP is low enough at 797 it might be a good trainer.

My gym Pokémon is now down to 1. I lost the museum and restaurant Exeggutor and Slowbro. My last one is a Flareon at the marina. Normally I don't put Flareons in gyms anymore because of the water weakness, but I had 6 gyms at the time I got there and I needed a high CP (2nd most out of all of my Pokémon), the only good news is the road where this gym is located is ALL controlled by Valor, up and down, every gym belongs to us. Maybe I can get 10 coins tomorrow or try to find a few more to fight. My hyper potions are gonna fall below 20 real soon.

I've caught a couple beedrill and butterfree, but nothing really awesome except one butterfree is fairly solid so I hadn't erased that one. I find that bug pokemon are the crappiest things in pokemon with a few exceptions like the scyther. That one I have is wicked fast, gets off multiple moves before the other can attack normally and hits fairly hard. As long as someone doesn't light it up with a fire attack or electric (I think those are the weaknesses) it can hold its own.

I know the egg! GRR...same day, wife pops a 10km egg on hers which hatches a powerful Lapras. I was pissed. I get a 5 year old girls cuddle puppy stuffed animal, and she gets that.

Yep, yep. That was the one I got. Except mine was just 'average'. All that walking for an average? Bah humbug to that.

To clarify, I'm not so much irked that it was an Eevee as I am that it was a 'meh' Eevee. I've caught two in my inventory that not only have better stats, but also a higher CP levels. I think this may be my first 'mon to come out of an egg with something lower than tier 1 or 2 status. So yeah. Disappointment :(

In other news, I'm still patiently waiting for that Buddy update to drop.

Any day now, Niantic.

Any day...

Those feels.

Fury Cutter is the fastest tap attack in the game, at a cooldown of 0.3 seconds, you can keep using those! Don't forget that Scythers make great Exeggutor "exeggcutioners", because of the bug's strength against both grass and psychic types! You got one with Fury Cutter and Bug Buzz, and can dodge well, you're good!

But, Bug types are weak against Fire, Flying, and Rock, so keep that in mind.

I managed to train @ a gym today, someone had a 450 Flareon, so I sent in my 390 Wartortle. Tapped away a few times and now I got 2 gyms today.

As far as the update, it's being almost like a random drawing. The appstores pick a certain number of people/devices and they get the app first. It is not dependent on geographical area as I originally thought. Some people in this country are starting to get it, however.

I do in fact have Fury Cutter and Bug Buzz on my Scyther, it's also with 90HP, 1114CP, and as she says 'it amazes me, hp strongest feature, blown away--wow!' so it's pretty high quality. It's the one bug I think that really doesn't suck in the game like I said. Those fast strikes add up.

I put the Chansey in the mall today, lasted around 2 hours only though. I guess I shouldn't be surprised even if it is an HP wall because the gym was weak with just (me too) 3 people on it in a very public place that's pokemon go user heavy. My wife took a stab at it, it wrecked the thing using a Lapras, but others had been chipping at it and getting nowhere so it did ok I suppose.

Spent the day downtown and drained my battery. Phone literally died on me at 4%. Only found one new mon, but my current lineup is pretty solid in many ways.

I'm liking that top 3 there! Great choices for any gym, and they will keep you near the top.

Your Chansey lasted a lot longer than mine did in its only gym appearance (around 15-20 minutes), but as you said, the gyms with more traffic will turnover a lot more frequently. That's why I'm surprised at my second gym I got today (the same one the Chansey was in) surviving so well. It had the low power Flareon at 450CP, a Vaporeon, my Snorlax, and a Gyarados. Combine that with the gym with my Flareon 3 in Valor territory, and I hope to get another double bonus again tomorrow.

I powered up my star Scyther today with Fury Cutter/Bug Buzz because I had a ton of candy and a lot of dust from my activities this weekend. It's now at 1381CP with 14/14/15 (95%). It was a wild catch from a lure module set up in a park playground just after I reached level 20 and got my first Ultra Balls, I used one of those as it was at 1175CP originally. I have a second one that has Steel Wing/Bug Buzz, a slower tap attack but still strong at 1145CP and 14/4/15, low defense score but still at 73%.
