If you don't know, it's sort of a cross between a CCG like Hearthstone or MTG and a tabletop game like... chess?
Basically you play pieces the same way you would cards in HS. You've got your minions and your spells and buffs. You've got mana that builds each turn. You've got a sort of hero power. So very HS. But the huge difference is the board; your minions (and hero) can all move on the board and placement is very important.
I played for a while in the beta, and then earlier this year I played when the game was first released. Now that it's on Steam, I'm back at it.
Here's the thing though: this game makes me feel like an idiot. I'm definitely not good, and I promise you that luck has far more to do with my victories so far than skill or strategy. I couldn't tell you what one hero offers over another, nor have I even begun any sort of deck building.
But I admire this game big time. It's an impressive release, it's polished and it has gotten a lot of support - with a pretty big expansion planned for later this month.
Oh, and it's FREE on Steam y'know? And you can buy new cards/decks in the game using your Steam Wallet - which means you can sell all those pointless Steam trading cards you have and use the balance to buy something useful in this game.
Anyway, let's use this thread to talk Duelyst!
