[GUIDE/INFO] Flash Carts, ODE, and more!
Re: [GUIDE/INFO] for Flash Carts, Retrode, repros, and more!
The Wonderswan flashcart from Flashmasta is officially for sale - I got my order in!
Too bad the menu system does not allow functionality of the MicroSD slot, but it's in the works!
Considdering how impossible it is to find a WonderWitch dev setup this is really exciting news!

UPDATE
Got an Email from Steve this morning, 5200 SD cart on the way! Guide forthcoming.
The 5200 has a special spot for me, own many of the titles, the beautiful Trakball, Wico sticks, 5200 dual stick plate and even the Pacman diamond adapters. Really looking forward to the cart, I already have quite a few roms ready to go! I'll post a full in depth Guide on the cart along with reviews on some of the special games from the 8 bit days.
The Arcade conversions so close and well coded, the sound chip identical to some of the cabinets! Vectrex is the perfect machine for Cinematronics space games; Atari 5200 the perfect console for Williams space games of the day. The graphic explosions of Defender and every sound in Robotron are just perfect.
The best Trakball game : TEMPEST - Original programmer completed decades later!

Get this 5200 game direct from Atari Age for the historical value! The initial run included the box and manual made as a game retail box from the 80s!

Held off due to the cost and already owning most of the 5200 titles. Finally made the plunge today to try all the Atari 400/800 8 bit computer and Atari XL conversions as well as so many prototype games. Shamus, Beef Drop, Necromancer and many others!Atarimax wrote:Atari 5200 Ultimate SD cartridge- http://atarimax.com/5200sd/documentation/index.html
Now Shipping! - Pre-Order Pricing Extended Until 08/31/2016
I actually visited the First Star software office and bought the red cart version of Miner 2049er back in the 80s. I was offered a first purchase of the yet to be titled sequel prototype, but passed up on it back then. Might have met Bill Hogue in person and not even know it! Oh so foolish, the game today rare and very pricey, but now can be played with the SD version of Atarimax on the real 5200 console.
Jump on it! The preorder sale has been extended to the end of this month. Not sure if it will be extended again since the cart has been in production for a while now.The sale also includes a 512mb SD Card which at first seems too small. Atari Roms are only 8k-16k-32k in size so plenty of room for all the games, txt file manuals and screenshots.jmbarnes101 wrote:Hmm... I just picked up an Atari 5200. I should look into this.

This ED is going to be my next one for sure. I'm curious how the GB and GBC stuff looks/works?jmbarnes101 wrote:The ED-GBA arrived in my mailbox today but I won't have time to play with it until after I move. Happy dance!!!

I got it in a group buy from a guy on Neo-Geo.com who pre-loaded it with the GB/GBC color games pre-made into 32m chunks so they could load up in Goomba Color, and they worked great.retrosportsgamer wrote:This ED is going to be my next one for sure. Now Krikzz decided to release firmware 1.10 so if you have Goomba Color and PocketNES emulators in the OS folder, it will directly load GB/GBC (and NES) roms from the main menu just like regular GBA roms. Gooooood shit. I can't wait to try it out on mine. I mean... yes, technically, it's still emulation. But it's very very good emulation, I for one would be hard-pressed to tell the difference.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed

Re: [GUIDE/INFO] for Flash Carts, Retrode, repros, and more!
I don't think Goomba or PocketNES has been really notably updated probably in the last 5 years all that much where you'd notice it in every day use in general for most of the games. I recall using it for my current game library for NES and GB/GBC stuff about that far back and you really can't feel or tell the difference except the horizontal resolution of the NES is taller than the GB panel so it squishes it a bit.
More and more I keep watching that thing develop I feel I kind of want another kit again and I fairly well swore off the things. I can't think of too many actual GB any games I'd put to it, but for the NES, GB, GBC and also PCE+CD options, Game Gear too, that's mighty tempting.

Gooooood shit is right. Thanks for the update. There isn't an issue with the Game Boy Player for the GameCube and this, right?KalessinDB wrote: Now Krikzz decided to release firmware 1.10 so if you have Goomba Color and PocketNES emulators in the OS folder, it will directly load GB/GBC (and NES) roms from the main menu just like regular GBA roms. Re: [GUIDE/INFO] for Flash Carts, Retrode, repros, and more!
I used an ez-flash4 with the GB Player and an earlier flash media device (f2a advance I think, it had a USB based dock for its design) and both worked just fine. GBP isn't magic, it's just a GBA without it's own screen source using the GC more or less as a passthrough. If it will work on a GBA it will work on a GB Player aside from maybe some dumb light sensor game. Even a tilt game would work if you wish to pick up your purple lunchbox and start twisting it like some oversized rubiks cube.
Re: [GUIDE/INFO] for Flash Carts, Retrode, repros, and more!
Ehh I'd say it's decent at best, some games have graphical glitches and the sound is off.KalessinDB wrote:But it's very very good emulation, I for one would be hard-pressed to tell the difference.

Re: [GUIDE/INFO] for Flash Carts, Retrode, repros, and more!
Apologies for not updating the OP in a while. I've just been busy with other stuff. When I get in the mood, I'll most likely do a major update in one shot (rather than doing a bunch of small updates).
I appreciate everyone posting about current / updates / upcoming stuff in this thread! Perhaps I can add a new section to the OP, "News / Upcoming devices" and just link to relevant posts in this thread.

That's my experience as well. It's very, very impressive for a GBA to do that well emulating, but it's definitely not perfect.ApolloBoy wrote:Ehh I'd say it's decent at best, some games have graphical glitches and the sound is off.KalessinDB wrote:But it's very very good emulation, I for one would be hard-pressed to tell the difference.
