RPG Progress Report
Re: RPG Progress Report
Sounds like it's time to hack a savegame.
Re: RPG Progress Report
No, it's the DOS release. No auto-map or anything, though I believe they are available in the manual. I'm using the mouse, so that makes things much easier in my opinion.Exhuminator wrote:This is the SNES version right? Does it have an auto-map? Are there dedicated keys, or do you have to use a pseudo-mouse cursor (like the SNES version of Dungeon Master)?
And I'm not hacking a savegame to win! I'll get through on grit and balls if I have to.
Re: RPG Progress Report
You're not hacking it to win! You're hacking it to get the class you should have started with.
(Honestly, I don't hack savegames very often. But sometimes, I'll make an exception. Like missing characters in Suikoden V that I had recruited, lost progress, forgot about, and then got locked out of past a certain point.)

Gotta agree with Ack on this. When a game gives you grit rub your balls in it and just keep going.

Dark Souls II SoTFS -
Rolled credits on the main game, since it doesn't automatically throw you into NG+ like the first one. I guess I have Darklurker I could still hunt down, but otherwise it's DLC time. Started on the first one, but didn't get too far into it.

If you thought DS2 was easy up to this point (cake walk for me!), prepare yourself.isiolia wrote:Dark Souls II SoTFS -

DS2's DLC was harder than any of these games NG+(*x) for me.

The 7th Saga
I went back to Zellis, I picked up Brantu, and we returned to the Cave of Melenam. While there, I picked up my first rune, the Wind Rune that is. Before leaving the cave, I cleared out all its treasure (and a nasty mimic). I found it amusing one of the treasure chests was empty when I opened it, a sign of a game with gonads folks. And then I had Brantu open the sealed rock passage to Melenam. Brantu and I sauntered into Melenam, at which point he told me to piss off and left my party. I cleared all the treasure chests in Melenam, and then left out another cave entrance.
Making my way through this cave I came upon Pison once more. Apparently he was pretty pissed because he was RED this time. I was like so what sucka I got this, I don't need no stinking partner. Indeed I had a B Power saved for such an event, and I used it at the start of the battle. He swung at me, missed, and I defended for the next round. He swung again, and missed, and I hit him hard, taking 75% of his life off. The next round he caught me good, taking 90% of my life off. I went for the gusto next and straight attacked him again, dinging his last 25% of life, bam Red Pison fell like the poser he is. I walked out of the cave swaggering at level 18.
A short jaunt later I rolled up in the town of Eygus. I saved there, and that was the end of that play session.
Dragon Quest IX
Sunday evening I'm gonna resume my save from last June, back when I briefly played this. If you all recall I was snootin' like "it is le meh, is not ze hardcore enough for moi". Well after beating stuff like Front Mission 5, The Scheme, Shadow Tower Abyss, Baroque, and Armored Core 2 since then, I think I've got that hardcore itch out of my system for a while. Not to mention I'm playing The 7th Suffering in tandem.
The impending DQVII 3DS release has got me in the mood to get trolled by metal slimes.

It's over! Blue Burst is DONE. Solo like a baws.
70-something hours. Level 85. Final boss was a doozy, but nothing my skilled ranger Iris couldn't handle.
I have a shitload to say about this one. Expect a lengthy Games Beaten post in the near future.
Now time for C.A.R.D. Revolution???

So I just discovered an awesome Secret of Monkey Island reference in Blood & Wine. In the course of the fistfighting quest for the new area you run into a contender who looks like Guybrush named Mancomb who you duel with rhyming insults rather than your firsts.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Yes. Please. In all the years since its release, I cannot recall anyone talking about it on any gaming forum I've frequented. If nothing else, it's rather unexplored territory all things considered. I own the game myself, but I figured I'd wait till I played through PSO1&2 first.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Now time for C.A.R.D. Revolution???
