Maybe the problem is that Noise can't tell which crazy hard enemy is blocking the way to a higher level area because to him they're all equally crazy hard.

Anyone got any tips for demikids light/dark? I'm trying to make it to center city but dang some of these random attacks are doing a number on my crew even with heal magic or the hp pill

Have you fought the big bull with the hammer yet? If they're the skeletons I'm thinking of, I'm fairly sure you are supposed to go that way, because they're guarding the way to the church, which is where you want to go.

Keep in mind that the "quests" that Dark Souls tends to spell out for you like that are very big tasks. There are basically four that it'll set out in front of you:

Prove your worth by ringing the two bells.
Obtain the Lordvessel (the way will open only after ringing the two bells)
Obtain four Lord Souls (to put in the Lordvessel, and open the way to the final boss)
Defeat the final boss

That's it, outside of the DLC. For a game that could well take you 60+ hours. It's not exactly the same as the quest trackers in most RPGs. There are plenty of other "quest" type things, but they're things you'll come across as you go (if you're concerned with finding them, you may want to check some FAQs, as they can otherwise be easy to miss).

The two bells are not especially fast to get to. The first one that people typically get is the upper one, which means chewing your way through the Undead Burg. It's in the bell tower of the cathedral (in fact, when you hear the cathedral bell chiming, it means another player rang that bell in their game). Like Partridge Senpai mentioned, if you ran into the Taurus Demon, then you're headed the "right" way, though you still have another boss before the bell.

There are some items you can dash to in some of the other areas, but they're largely going to be a little too difficult yet.

Anyway, Dark Souls II SotFS proceeds, I guess. I got the four Great Souls, went through the castle, down to the Shrine, and down to where the king is walking in circles to grab his ring. Haven't used it to get through any of the doors you need it for yet, and instead went back to farm some items and bosses I managed to miss. Also need to get into the DLC parts I guess.
It still seems cheaper than DS1, though it seems to vary on the area. Also seems to have more gimmicks (not sure I could call them puzzles), though again, discretion when using/reusing them seems to be off. Kind of a mixed bag, and part of it could be the SotFS version as it's tuned to be harder.

Realized Sorcery was nerfed in a patch too, so, I've been able to benefit from it -some- by having nice ranged options, but the 2-3 shotting bosses seems to be gone. :|

Those aren't skeletons they're Hollow warriors. I'm fairly sure he means the skeles in the graveyard next to Firelink Shrine in front of the entrance to the catacombs.

Head toward the aqueduct. Let me know if you want more direction.

You'll need a holy-empowered weapon before you can kill them (and make them stay down), and like with the ghosts, they guard an area that you won't need to go to for a loooong while.

yeah, like isiolia explained - I don't think I've grasped how this game is so different from any other RPG (or... game) that I've played. So yeah in my mind like, the bells would be a quest and it'd take me 30-60 mins to do that. Etc.
