Aquanaut's Holiday - this is a seafaring adventure where play a journalist investigatings the disapearance of an ocean bioligist on a remote island. The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay is a relaxing combination of exploration and light puzzle solving - I posted a thread about it here; http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... =26&t=9095

Demon's Souls - this is an action RPG developed by From software and in many ways is similar to the King's Field series. The game is unlike most other 3rd person action games in that it's a very deep & hardcore RPG adventure at it's roots, the gameplay is inherently unforgiving and punishes foolish mistakes. I posted a thread with a load of info about it over at teamxbox; http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=607663

Hakuna Matata (aka Afrika) - you play a photographer who takes on different missions to capture shots of the wildlife in Africa. There's a great variety to the types of shots you have to get and you are graded on each one which affects the ammount of credits you recieve, which can then be used to purchase upgrades and new equipment. The graphics are very vibrant and the animations are very lifelike, but overall it's not quite as visually impressive as Aquanaut's Holiday.

All 3 of these games are available in English - just make sure you get the Asian version listed with Chinese/English language support and not the Japanese version.

Bootaaay already mentioned the good ones, so I'll mention some less attention grabbing ones.

Looks like Musuo Orochi Z just came out. I'm sure there is a ton of Japanese story info, but I'm sure it's about as import as the story to any given Hack 'n Slash. Give it enough time, and it'll make its way over though. Gundam Musuo 2 is also out in Japan and Asia, while I haven't seen it here either. (Could be wrong.)

Also, there is Battle Fantasia. It came to the 360 in America, but the only way to get it on the PS3 is by importing it from Japan. Again, Japanese story, but I'm sure you can enjoy this perfectly fine without knowing it.

Aside from that, the PS3 has a lot of RPGs that have no chance of coming to America, but that's not exactly English-friendly, obviously. If you do get the courage, though, look for Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan!, Ryu ga Gotoku 3 , X-Edge, Boku no Natsuyasumi 3 and Agarest Senki. (I also remember a PS3-remake of a PC-based doujin game that looked colorful, but I doubt would have appeal to non-Japanese-ese.) I don't actually encourage you to get any of these, just trying to be complete.

In fact, the only games I would even consider myself on this list is Battle Fantasia (2D fighter fan) and Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! (It's pretty cheap.) And before you even touch any games I mentioned, get bootaaay's games first.

Edit: I'll also be getting Ryu ga Gotoku 3 and X-Edge, but those should be coming stateside... eventually.

It looks like I'll have to import Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! since it will likely never hit US shores..

I'll wait for Ryu ga Gotoku 3 to hit the US since Yakuza 1,2 came out I'm sure it will as well eventually..

So glad PS3 is region free with games and Blu-Ray..
