What was the last movie you've seen?

My strongest feelings of dislike about Prometheus are mostly around Guy Pearce's character. I love Guy Pearce as an actor, but the CG or makeup they did for him was really jarring and I don't think his character added a lot to the proceedings.

For Scott's work overall I think that Blade Runner will always be my favorite of his and I suppose a lot of the reasons why (atmosphere, music, stage and set design) may not rest at his feet. My favorite movie of his modern work is probably Body of Lies, I thought it told a really compelling story and the acting was just stellar throughout, by Leo DiCaprio and Mark Strong especially. I still need to see The Martian which I've heard is excellent, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

If you want to check out The Martian I have a spare digital code that came with my Bluray copy that you can have. Never use the things really. I need to go through my DVD/Bluray collection and make a freebie list of all the digital codes I have laying around :P.

I would use it! PM me. I actually use digital a lot these days to get movies cheaply, so if you have a list, I might take a few off your hands if you're willing. :)

Me neither. I have no idea how many digital codes I have laying around in DVD boxes, or if their affiliated services are still active. Is ultraviolet still a thing?

Ultraviolet still is, yeah, since that's what the digital codes I have for stuff like Batman v Superman are for.

UltraViolet is most definitely still a thing, in fact I just redeemed a copy of The Martian on there thanks to Mr. Fragems! :P

http://ultravioletcinema.com/ aggregates a lot of sites that sell codes cheaply if any of you are interested!

For example the new Ninja Turtles movie is $2.49! If you were gonna rent it any way, why not buy it instead?

Prometheus is solid but flawed. Namely I thought the blonde chick was grade A awful... and she was everywhere. Her acting, the lines, everything. But the way I like to look at the movie is, what else compares to it nowadays? Rarely do we get some darker, high production, serious super sci-fi stuff like this anymore and it's pretty solid. I think more exposition in the Alien-verse is a bit unnecessary, kind of ruining the allure and mystery to the original and all the lore, but yeah. I'm excited for the next one, as well as the 5th one or whatever that will supposedly overwrite 3-Ressurection. The extended version of 3 is pretty cool in my book, but it's still not really Alien or Ripley at all, it's more like the prelude to Riddick haha.

Like I expressed earlier after somehow surviving Predators, I'm just so happy that Alien is finally free from this awful franchise and can do its own thing again. Maybe Arnold could have saved it if he was around in the sequels, but ugh that crap and AvP freaking sucks.

Conan the Barbarian (1982) was amazing haha. A little slow in the early going but then it really sucked me in. The atmosphere in old fantasy is just so obtuse and dreamy. Ironically felt like perhaps one of the most serious movies Arnold ever did in a way. Great fun.

Is The Neverending Story legit? I'd love to see some more high quality 80's fantasy.

Somehow of all things, a friend of mine and I stumbled upon Conquest (1983) awhile back... I'm quite positive I'll probably never see anything as crazy as that for the rest of my life haha. Bit NSFW:

I think my friend stumbled upon the OST which blew us away, then we dove in.

Seems like something Ack would love... or has already seen, lol.

I just stumbled upon Flesh and Blood (1985)... Paul Verhoeven and Basil Poledouris! Is this any good?
