PS3 game recommendations

I finally caved and bought a PS3, The draw of MGS4 was just too much for me. I picked up the console with Killzone 2 packed in as well as also purchasing GT5 Prologue.

Now that I have completed MGS4 and have grown bored with KZ I need something else to justify my $700aus purchase. So any recommendations of good games that you may have played through would be appreciated. At the moment I’m considering the Resistance games as well as Little big planet but am open to any game of any genre.

Final thought, The PS3 gets alot of negative press, But I am very happy with the machine thus far.

And after that, I'd say Disgaea 3 is an interesting choice. It's the standard FFT interface, but it has some modifications to the basic format that I really like. The first is the focus on being overpowered. The max level is 9999 and your damage is expected to go into the billions when you work at it. Once you get into it defense becomes meaningless and the battles are all about one hitting enemies before they one hit you. What's nice, though, is that all this craziness is completely optional; you can complete the main story without doing anything beyond what you'd do in an FFT runthrough. The game also has a great sense of humor. It makes a lot of references to the genre and to anime, and in general doesn't take itself too seriously.

I'd definetly reccomend Valkyria Chronicles & Disgaea 3 on the RPG front, both are awesome and will keep you going for ages (especially Disgaea) - also, Resistance 1 is worth a play, the campaign was alot of fun (which is more than I can say for the 2nd game). Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is a must, one of the best action adventures in ages. Plus, if you're looking for a driving game, you really can't go wrong with Motorstorm 2 Pacific Rift.

Finally, here's some of the exclusive PSN games that are well worth checking out;

. Crash Comando (online shooter from a 2d perspective, plays like soldat)
. Cuboid (fun & challenging puzzle game)
. Dark Mist (dungeon crawler mixed with a twin stick shooter, get it from the JP store along with the awesome expansion pack)
. Echochrome (really unique puzzler where you have to alter perspective to complete the puzzles)
. Everyday Shooter (strange music-driven twin stick shooter, well worth a go if you're a shooter fan)
. flOw (odd little game that uses the sixaxis motion controls really well)
. Flower (beautiful experience, but not much of a game - still worth checking out if you're looking for a relaxing little diversion)
. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (not the biggest GT game, with just 6 tracks and 70 or so cars, but it's still alot of fun & looks astounding)
. GTI Club+ (HD update of the classic arcade original, so much fun online)
. The Last Guy (unique little top-down game where you have to get a line of people to save areas before they are eaten by monsters)
. LocoRoco Cocoreccho! (strange LocoRoco themed game where you guide Loco's about in an effort to find all 200)
. Lumines Supernova (it's Lumines, again. Still awesome, even if this is like the 4th time they've basically re-released the same game)
. PAIN (not much of a game, but still fun - propell your character into painful situations for points)
. PixelJunk: Eden (really innovative platforming game with beautiful graphics)
. PixelJunk: Monsters (fun tower-defence game with nice graphics)
. Piyotama (cute little Tetris/Columns style puzzle game)
. Siren: Blood Curse (amazing survival horror, the whole game is presented in episodes that can be downloaded seperately)
. Soldner-X Himmelssturmer (pretty fun & challenging futuristic horizontal shooter)
. Super Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars (it's like soccer, but with rocket-powered battle-cars :p)
. Super Stardust HD (really fun twin-stick shooter with blinding graphics)
. Tekken 5 : Dark Ressurection (port of the arcade original, with online play)
. Warhawk (brilliant online team based 3rd person shooter, plus controling the planes it a lot of fun - also, the expansion packs are brilliant)
. Wipeout HD (wipeouts never looked so good, plus it has online play)
