Both Central Intelligence and The Rundown are great fun.prfsnl_gmr wrote:You should watch The Rundown. It is Dwayne Johnson's best/most fun film, and there is an amazing Arnold cameo at the beginning where he passes the "muscled action hero" torch. I loved it.Sarge wrote:I agree with the assessment on Dwayne Johnson. He's filling that Arnold role quite well, and I love that he's doing so. I still need to see Central Intelligence, my brother said it was absolutely hilarious, and we have very similar taste in movies.
What was the last movie you've seen?

Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

I still need to go through all the Rocky's. I have seen pieces of all of them over the years, I can remember the first one the most, but then I recall stuff with Hogan, the robot, etc.Ack wrote:So then if we're all such fans of Arnold, dare I ask, what is the general opinion of Stallone?
Huge fan of Rambo though. The newest one not so much, but it was still fun. The first movie is obviously the most serious and legit with an intense underlying plot, but the second one is just pure action gold to me. 3 is a little goofier but I still had a blast with it. They all have incredible scores, Jerry Goldsmith! Love these.
Demolition Man rules, even if I hate Taco Bell.
Tango & Cash is gold and brings two super powers together. I'm a huge John Carpenter fan, so naturally I have seen a lot of what Kurt Russell has to offer with those. Recently watched Escape From LA with some friends and... we had a blast. Anyone taking that movie too seriously is doing it wrong.
Cobra was pretty awesome.
Expandables is solid like we mentioned.
Think that covers what I've seen. All that said, I'm not sure what to think of Stallone himself actually and how much of a fan I am. I can't really understand half the words he says, so maybe that's it. Definitely a way bigger Arnold fan. It's hilarious how they were apparently not on good terms back in the day since they were competing for that spotlight basically, but it's cool they're now on good terms and team up for some movies.

But what's your thoughts on "The Italian Stallion" aka "The Party at Kitty and Stud's"
.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I never was a rambo, cobra fan. I was big into rocky and liked demolition man and over the top as far as stallone goes. Funny he was the heavyweight champ in his rocky days, but only 5 '8 190 lbs, 10 lbs under the cruser weight limit.

I FINALLY saw The Avengers, and thought it was great. I'm glad y'all insisted I watch Ironman, Thor and Captain America first. I thought the first half was "very good," but once they all really unite and kick ass as a team it's just total nerdgasm. I mean... even Hulk was incredible in this. And that after credits scene!
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Yeah, good film all around. The after credit scene gave me chills. They end up diluting the value of that scene in later films, but at the time? Glorious.

The other one, duder.

So guys, more reasons Blade Runner 2 needs to cease to being a thing:
- Vangelis confirmed for not coming back
- Suddenly Ridley Scott isn't directing it (not that I was excited with him anyways wanting to shove it in our faces thesedays that Deckard IS a replicant!)
- A construction worker died on set recently
HOLLYWOOD is the answer I guess? Ugh.

I'm seriously happy you finally got to see the Avengers. This is the superhero film that all current superhero films are measured against. I'm also glad you took our advice and watched Ironman, Cap, and Thor first.
So go ahead and give us your full thoughts. No need to spoiler tag it here. I think you were the last man in America to watch the Avengers.
