You know there's a quick way to reset the levels at any time, right? Don't try to trudge to the exit if a viking bites the dust.

Yep, officially putting Breach and Clear: Deadline on this list. That mission seems to be permanently bugged, and it's not a system where I can drop a quest and pick it back up or whatever, and I REALLY don't feel like playing through another 12 hours to get back to that point. It's a shame, too; I was really looking forward to writing that review on my Games Beaten list since I named my squad the Sailor Scouts and had burly men named Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, and Sailor Jupiter.

I just gave The Lost Vikings another go and....I think I'm going to keep it.

I was really getting into it. One of my Vikings died, but I was easily able to restart the level. It was unique and seemed interesting enough.

The others can all go away. But, the Lost Vikings is a Game NOT NOT Beaten in 2016.

Once you get into the groove you'll find a game that's not overly complicated or difficult.

Most levels follow one of two formats. Sometimes the three vikings travel as a pack with Olaf providing defense, Baleog providing offense, and Erik hitting the occasional switch or knocking down walls.

Other levels have them split up almost immediately, and it's generally apparent who is appropriate for each path.

It's a much less taxing game than, say, Lemmings.

I don't believe the first Lost Vikings has a first-level cheat like the second one does. Am I right in saying that?

Yeah man I mean if you didn't even get off the spaceship (the first four levels I think), you haven't even seen the game yet!

If you're really worried about the action just make sure to keep Olaf in front. But as Bone pointed out there will be a lot of stages where they split up completely.

Also, I hope you can manage to get through it, or at least to the bubbly, cute, adorable Candy Land like world, because... it'll give you nightmares for days. That place is HELL.

I'd seen this game turn up on many "exclusive hidden gems" of Xbox lists. So I finally bothered to give it a solid go last night. Yeah, this is no hidden gem folks. Not by a mile. It's been a while since a game made me rage. This one did the trick. Gunvalkyrie would actually be an easy game, if it had half decent controls whatsoever.

But no, oh no, I think this game has some of the shittiest worst designed controls I've ever subjected my thumbs to. I'd read many a raging gamer complain about these controls over the years, and I thought they must be exaggerating, they weren't. Utterly retarded control layout, how to fuck up your game's input 101 right here. IF this game had reasonable controls I might have bothered to finish it. But even then, it's still just a mediocre experience at best where you try to destroy all the bugs before a timer runs out. Yawn.

I'm pretty sure Smilebit purposely made the controls terrible, to artificially enhance the difficulty, to make the game take longer than 3 hours to beat. That's the only plausible excuse for what the hell happened here.

The Dreamcast version was going to use the light gun.

I've always meant to try that game. Is it really that bad?
