Damn. You beat me to it on the panzer dragoon, but I also tie it with castlevania, megaman, and anything sega or nintendo.Anubis wrote:I'm really enjoying Mother 3i and Mother 3+. The Panzer Dragoon Soundtracks are also fantastic. All of them are wonderful. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus had great soundtracks. Also have to throw in Jet Grind Radio. I can't count the number of times I've danced in my car to that soundtrack. Megaman 2 has a great sound.
Also, while not many people have played it, I thought Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars on the GBA had a great soundtrack.
Oh, and Cave Story.
Can't forget that. Running Hell FTW.

MegaMan games have awesome music, and they would definately rank high on my personal list. Especially considering it is my favorite classic game series overall. My favorite shooter series, the Raiden games all have awesome soundtracks that really keep you pumped while playing them. So, those would also rank high for me. I'm noticing a trend here, a lot of my favorite games from various genres also have some of my favorite music in them. Chrono Trigger has solid themes in it. F-Zero has some tunes in it that I really liked a lot. As far as first person shooters go, I would definately give the nod to the Halo series. Love it or hate it, those games have some neat music in them. Of course Castlevania: Symphony of the Night has some good music in it as well. That's some of the ones I like, off the top of my head.

Favorite soundtracks and Jet Grind radio and Border Down. Esp.Galuda is pretty BOSS as well.

A very under-rated soundtrack is Top Gear on the SNES. It's a pretty dated old racing game, but boy the soundtrack really sticks with me.

The first GTA game. Also I've been digging the Little Big Planet soundtrack a lot so far. I guess I like soundtracks with "real" music, for lack of a better word.
Although for the record I was in a weird synth rock band in high school that did a Mega Man music medley. It was rad.

Crue Ball (gen)
1080 Snowboarding (n64) okay, just kidding. It has pretty horrid sound tracking
JSRF is pretty good. Bully has really appropriate wall-to-wall underscore.
