I highly doubt that, but it's possible. Know anyone who has a DS3 or DS4 so you can test it?

Seems like really weird marketing to say you need a PS4 controller to play PS3 games, but not mention a PS4 controller.

I have DS3 controllers.

The spec sheet for the linked model mentions both DS3 and DS4 controllers in the notes ( https://docs.sony.com/release//specs/BDPS1700_mksp.pdf ).

I could see requiring/suggesting a DS4 in some cases, given that it has the touch surfaces that the DS3 doesn't. For playing PS3 games though, it'd be a moot point.

yeah maybe it's more an indication that they ARE planning PS4 or Vita games coming to the service in the future where the DS4 would be required.

...and apparently the USB dongle is now up for pre-order on Amazon. It's out on 9/19, so I'd reckon that means there's a fair chance that's when PS Now will be coming to PC. I... pre-ordered the dongle (although I don't own a DS4 yet).

Can you just download the drivers and use it as a wired controller? Obviously there are entirely separate reasons for wanting a wireless controller, but that is an option, correct?

I don't know, but I'm glad you shared it. I just went from playing Sonic Spinball on the genesis to playing Sonic and Knuckles tracks on my acoustic
