Just finished Rayman - my thoughts

I'm not sure how far I've gotten in rayman 1 but I think Rayman 2 is easier. It's definitely one of the best 3D platform games I've played. Even though it's 3D it feels like a classic 2D platform game, but there is some exploration and stuff. But it's not as much of a switch as Mario World - Mario 64.

You might like Gex (the first one), Skullmonkeys (though I found the gameplay to be a step back from what EWJ offered).. and Mr Bones (haven't tried it myself) A few more suggestions:

I'd appreciate 32-bit platforming suggestions if anyone has any!
Ug, Gex was so frustrating, Rayman was much better then Gex IMO. Also, for some reason I could never get past the pirate boss on Rayman 2 so I find that game very difficult, though I want to play more of it.

Gex is ok but as soon as the levels started getting mazelike and you had to wander around searching for that stupid remote it got old. If it had been more straightforward like Donkey Kong Country it could have been great.

Rayman 2 probably was the single most enticing game I've played, it was just so much different than what i was used to and so varied and so well directed. Man, I'm gonna go get that ready for my dc now. After 2, series may have gone downhill, but i still consider rayman 2 a masterpiece to this day.
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

Did Michel Ansel work directly on Rayman 2, or had someone else taken over the franchise by then?
