Random Gaming Thoughts
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
It's gotta be a rights issue of some kind. That is the biggest reason why stuff like that happens on GOG.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
How is it the same then? From what I gathered, the BD player would stream the PS3 games. Will PSNow stream the games on the PC version? If so, then what's with those PC requirements? My BD player certainly doesn't have a 3.5Ghz Core i3 or equivalent. Or is it that my BD player can only stream a limited number of games, but a PC with those specs could stream more games?noiseredux wrote:then you already have access to PSNow. I thought that was interesting when I bought it, but as I have a PS3 I largely ignored the details.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I think you're missing the point. It is exactly the same. PSNow is a "netflix-like" service that streams PS3 games (currently) to various devices. That's it. They are bringing this service to Windows soon. So PC users can stream PS3 games to their PC netflix-style. Subscription and all.
The BR player you have now does this. It accesses the service if you pay for a subscription. Maybe you should do the free month trial and tell us how it is.

I'd have to get a PS4 controller though.

Any one knows good retro gaming shops around Los Angeles area I should check out?
If not, can you at least tell me where would I most likely find a retro videogames/consoles for sale?
GoodWill? flea market?(which)

You should be able to use a DualShock 3. My Sony TV has PS Now, and I think it allows for a DualShock 3 (although, having a PS3, I've never messed with it).Ziggy587 wrote:I'd have to get a PS4 controller though.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I'm definitely excited about this... except the price. $10/mo feels like a small enough fee for a digital service that I'd not really feel it. $20/mo feels like if I didn't play a PSNow game one month I'd be really pissed that I spent $20 on it that month. Y'know?
On the flip - if I understand this correctly - you can just rent games instead of subscribing. Though I haven't researched the prices there. Again though, I'd much rather buy the digital game to add to a digital collection than rent it for a week. I'd gladly spend $10, $15 maybe $20 to own some of these games digitally - even streamed.
That said, my PS3-on-PC wishlist has always been: Catherine, Heavy Rain, Ico/SOTC, and 3D Dot Game Heroes. That last one is the only one not currently offered by the service. And apparently they have been good about adding new games.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I'll check again, but I seem to recall it specifying a PS4 controller with no mention of a PS3 controller. Again, I kinda just glazed over that feature since I own a PS3 and it doesn't interest me.ElkinFencer10 wrote:You should be able to use a DualShock 3. Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
from Wiki:
Non-PlayStation devices will need a DualShock 3 or 4 controller for the service,
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I'm pretty sure this is the exact model I have. It mentions needing a PS4 controller, but makes no mention of a PS3 controller.noiseredux wrote:from Wiki:

I might have bought it in 2015, so that might not be the exact one I have.Enjoy instant access to a catalog of hundreds of streamed PlayStation 3 games. Play using your 2016 Sony Blu-ray Disc player and a Dualshock 4 controller – no game console required.
Maybe some devices can do PS3 or PS4 controllers, but mine can only do PS4?
