I hear the brush stuff is a bit hard to do with the Wii remote, which is a bit of a surprise. I'm guessing it'd be better to go with one of the HD versions on PS3 or something.

Then you have yet to play Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE.
Well played sir. That one actually does do the crossover universe right; universe A's heroes and villains intrude upon universe B and the people of universe B, possessing a strong sense of justice, help universe A heroes stop the villains.

I think it does help that they used the Persona framework, which is flexible enough that you can have absolutely no characters in common with previous games and are still able to say "yup, that's Persona", as there's a strong mechanical basis to it.

I gotta disagree on this one. The brush stuff can be a bit finnicky at times, but I found the Wii version to be MUCH more intuitive and natural feeling than the PS2.

Amazingly, it is. Go for the PS3 HD version. It looks and plays spectacularly.

Follow it up with Okamiden on the NDS. It is also pretty great (and probably the NDS's best "Zelda" game).

It's been a while since I've played Okami, but I really don't remember having trouble using the brush. Maybe it was a bit wonky in a few times, but overall I thought it was just fine.

I played Dragon Quest III for most of the day yesterday, and stopped after becoming king for a day. Problem is, Megami Tensei II arrived today. Just thumbing through the manual, and seeing the map of an obliterated Tokyo on the last two pages is testing my resolve to play through DQ III before starting it.

I've sort of been mentally mapping out the rest of the year for what I'm hoping to play, as well. Obviously the two I just mentioned are what will most immediately be on my plate. It would be good to get through Tactics Ogre before the end of the year, also. After those, I'm looking at going whole hog on some Genesis/Mega Drive stuff: the Toe Jam & Earl games, Ghostbusters, The Great Circus Mystery, Rent-a-Hero, maybe PS III and IV, possibly Arcus I-II-III, Lunar or After Armageddon. If I could get in a few PCE games between Magicool, Emerald Dragon, Energy, and Jaseiken Necromancer, that would also be nice.

That list of games makes me tingly in my pants region. Arcus I-II-III is the Mega CD compilation, right? Wolf Team was awesome.

The problem with that sentence fragment is the "maybe" portion. If nothing else play PSIV. As in, make that a priority. If you do not enjoy it, I'd be surprised and shake my head in fervent disdain not that you could see that but I'd still do it.

As far as mapping out what to play... I do that pretty often. My big dippity do for this year is trying to join the "100 games beaten in a year" club. I'm at 90 right now, I might just make it. 8)

Outside that goal, I'm trying to focus on playing sixth gen consoles at the moment, due to the fact in a month my dork cave will be packed up and out of commission, while moving into a new house. So I'll be stuck with handhelds for a while, until I get the new dork cave setup.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Just finished the remake of metroid 2. Fantastic job, really missed playing a "new" 2D metroid game.
