Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
If the combat is fun I'll have to give it a chance, but I was also hoping it had a good story as well.

I have yet to see a crossover series have a good story. Especially one with more than two universes.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Okami is great, but man it seems to drag a bit. If they had cut about 10 hours out of the game, it probably wouldn't been a bit smoother... though I was also doing all the collectibles and such, so that might have added those ten hours.
But, another platinum down and a game I know I'll play again (and ideally that I could introduce people new to gaming to- its surprising easily, excluding the Devil Gates)
And now starting on Vanquish. Got past the first boss battle after a couple of tries. Good stuff so far, although besides the basics, I feel lost half the time. I don't get scoring, and I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to be running around and dodging or using cover at times. But, the feel of the game is great, that Kojima-like mix of deadly serious and goofy just hit my buttons.
And two of my new favorite video game lines- "Didn't know they made vibrators that big!" and "Fuckin' robots". Up there with some of the lines from EDF.

RGT: I'm probably just blanking on stuff, but I feel like the only two games that come to mind that I'm really REALLY looking forward to this year are Tyranny and Friday The 13th. I'm sure I'm just forgetting stuff, though.

Nice. It is such a great game. The beginning drags a bit - to say the least - but once it picks up - it is awesome. Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Would the Wii version be the best one to check out? That's my plan.
I'm pulling hairs out trying to buy time before Mankind Divided hits haha. Just playing random stuff until then, but I also don't want to jump into some good stuff in my backlog in fear they'll suck me in as well. The wait is painful! First world problems.
I'm dead set on replaying Deus Ex for the 10th time after Mankind Divided, so I'm pumped for that. This new collective mod looks fantastic for it:

After that if my immersive FPS mood is still going I think I might try to tackle System Shock 1 (also craving a System Shock 2 replay) or maybe one of the From Software dungeon crawlers. Get some of this stuff in before Dishonored 2 in November which I'm also very stoked about. This is the best genre.
