You can get 12 months no interest from New Egg and build your own.

That's what I did before. They changed banks and I have to reapply. Don't want to get too personal, but I have good reasons for not opening new lines of credit.Ziggy587 wrote:You can get 12 months no interest from New Egg and build your own.
Back on topic, pricing the linked pc it looks as if the already made one is about the same price as the individual parts.
I'm not looking too debate credit, I'm stuck in a specific situation and trying to make the best of it. I was just wondering if that rig is worth the price, or should I wait/pick something cheaper?

Re: PC build thread
I've not used CyberPC. I'm personally more drawn to Intel than AMD. Pricier yes, but that's just me. What I don't like about that Cyber is I'm not sure what mobo nor what PCU it's using.
If you prefer to go with a prebuilt thru BB, I'd recommend an Alienware from personal experience, though you will get probably lesser specs for your dollar. But I tend to prefer a feeling of reliability. Again, just me - and totally speaking from a gut feeling than anything scientific.
The 1070 in the Cyber is a nice draw, of course.

That's not bad, certainly. And the price isn't bad, either. I think my price point is a tad lower than yours, but that's a decent deal, IMO, for a pre-built. Check the specs against the ibuypower stuff also at Best Buy. They are in competition against each other as smaller-name OEMs.

But again, pay attention to the PSU in each. Hate to see a bad power supply kill a build.

Re: PC build thread
Checking bestbuy.com the ibuypowers have lower specs for higher costs.
Ok here are some other options taking Noise's CPU suggestion and Marurun's price point:
i7 GTX 1060 +$99: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/CyberPowerP ... =bb5511006
i5 GTX 1060 -$100: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/CyberPowerP ... =bb5511002
i5 GTX 1070 +$80: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/CyberPowerP ... =bb5374304
i5 GTX 1060 ssd -$40: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/CyberPowerP ... =bb5511007
Now I'm overwhelemed. Most of the i5 PCs have 8GB ram instead of 16. Also, I'm trying to figure out if I will even notice a difference in 1080 (not 4k or dual screen) between the GTX 1060 and 1070.

Re: PC build thread
Fred, why not buy $1000 of something at Best Buy that you can resell easily for the exact same price (or very very close) and then use that money to get a much better PC via Newegg? I think stuff like brand new top of the line phones and pads, high end accessories for various tech, and even some games/gaming stuff would work for that route.

OR, you could think about spending ~$1,000 on quality parts through BB. They do sell individual parts, though they cost more than New Egg. I'm sure you could re-use your current case for instance? Maybe you already have some RAM? That way you'd know you were getting a quality PSU and could actually piece it out to what you really want instead of pre-built.
These iBuyPower and CyberPC's... I really don't feel good recommending any of them.

Re: PC build thread
^yeah... any good pre-built machine is going to cost WAY more than it should, any cheap one will probably not give you much in the way of lasting stability or optimal performance. Since you know what you are doing when building and since a gaming PC is what you seek, there's not a lot of reason to go the pre-built route (including the spending constraints).
noise, even after a year or two now, it still tickles me to see you as such a PC enthusiast in this thread

Re: PC build thread
ha! I suppose it does seem funny. To me it's just normalcy these days. At this moment my gaming room has 4 PC's setup in it... and no consoles. And that seems totally normal to me.dsheinem wrote: noise, even after a year or two now, it still tickles me to see you as such a PC enthusiast in this thread
EDIT: And actually, it was September of 2013 when I finally bought a GPU and started taking PC games seriously again after toying with some GOG stuff for a year or so. But I guess I'd say that I've been serious about PC gaming for about 3 yrs now. Time flies!
