I'd say it was like a 6/10 for me. But I'm with you for the most part. Some stuff felt jarringly out of place to me though. The scene when the girl "gets sick" felt like it was supposed to be silly. The scene when a mob of canibals eat a dude who's running away Day Of The Dead style felt like "hey, that's not possible!" y'know? But it had some good/scary scenes for sure. That said, I'd rank it as my least favorite Eli Roth movie.Forlorn Drifter wrote:The Green Inferno
Ehh. It had all the nasty gore and uncomfortable moments I hoped and expected, but the social commentary fell kind of flat for me. I think it had a bit of a point, but considering the situation didn't make the impact it should have. I think it would have been better without it, just be a cannibal horror movie and nothing else. I'd say like a 7/10. Pretty good, could have been better.
I did find it both funny and horrible that some of the scenes were real fear. Hitchcock like, but somewhat less terrible. Somewhat.
If you're wondering:
1. Cabin Fever
2. Hostel II
3. Knock Knock
4. Hostel
5. Green Inferno
...ok, I haven't seen Aftershock yet.
