Hmm you all are probably right, and I do have a more modern computer with an i7 at 2.5ghz(games it turbos to 3) and 16GB of RAM along with a Nvidia GTX980M 8GB video card. I've seen complaining about it with the 970/980/10X0 video cards. But if they are experimenting on Steam and that tester build cleaned up the BS I'll just wait for it to be beta approved and let them re-patch the copy up on GoG and grab it.

The patch is supposed to be out sometime this week. Sometimes GOG lags behind on that sort of thing but I'll let you know when it's out and how it goes.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye on it. If it's out that fast and works that would be nice. If not I can wait awhile, let them work on it and get it right as I'm not in a hurry and probably come sept/oct when they do the fall sale it'll probably be 10 or 20% off anyway.

nVidia put out one of those "game ready drivers" that mentioned No Man's Sky specifically.

So this sucks...

I was thinking about trying it out with a controller, since I have a Logitech F310. It'd be great if you could look around in the cockpit with a keyboard and mouse though. Or, if you already can... I didn't see any PDF manual in the GoG downloads for this game, but I sure would like one.

They updated the game, seems the corruption was tied back to shaders.

Shader Caching
Framerate was initially stuttering due to shaders not being correctly cached by the GPU on some systems. We have replaced the GPU caching system. You may notice some stutter during the Galactic Map intro to the game (the very first time you run), but it should be smoother from then on (this will be fixed in future). This is particularly true on ATI cards

I probably shouldn't be but I'm surprised that reports now are around 5% of people on the PC version have had problems with running the game well, yet you see all these self entitled crybaby crusaders going ape online over the game. All these personal and vile attacks on the developer company including some team members being targeted. It's getting ugly ripping on this project from a team of around a dozen who got something off the ground so well, yet you have a massive budget/team size release of like DOOM months ago that had hellish issues far worse and they get a free pass comparatively. It is millennial moron mental disease at play I wonder.

Could be worse, a 2.5GB re-download I think I saw the size was.

Those of you who are playing on PC, back up your saves; I've had two friends playing on PC tell me that their save files mysteriously vanished into the ether.

Do we know the directory for save file(s)?
