New gaming room
He doesnt need a better TV...I love good old round screen TV's....especially for nostalgic gaming. That's why in one room I have my 27" old TV and in another, a 64" 1080i HDTV. Well...at least til I goto college. Then I'll just have a computer screen...and I'll only be ale to bring like 1 or 2 systems....I'm not liking the osund of college anymore...<.<
Whatever, he's got an Xbox and a PS2 there. They'd benefit from a flat-screen with s-video. Having a better TV surely doesn't detract from an NES experience, but it may not add to it either. As long as it's still a 480i display, it's not having any negative effect on classic gaming.HoboJoe wrote:He doesnt need a better TV...I love good old round screen TV's....especially for nostalgic gaming. Spaced the speakers as far apart as possible. The pain with new TV's is that I live in spain and getting a decent CRT is still expensive
I would love a hi def CRT with like 640 480 display for some VGA DC action. Anyway the problem with me getting a video card with tv output is that I have onboard and no slot for a video card, also if I were to get a nice card as soon as I update I would need to be concerned with TV output still whereas if I had an adapter it would always be there.

Samsung SlimFit CRTs FTW!Mozgus wrote:Get a better TV. At the very least, get a flat screen 480i display with s-video. Your local walmart should have some for $90-100 still. And yeah, space those speakers further out.

Do those still work just as well as regular CRTs for retro gaming? Lightguns still work?racketboy wrote:Samsung SlimFit CRTs FTW!Mozgus wrote:Get a better TV. Re:
Lightguns do not work with any HDTV be it CRT LCD Plasma etc... the refresh rates are too high for lightguns to recognize the screen which just sucks.dudex77 wrote:Do those still work just as well as regular CRTs for retro gaming?
